New concoles from sony or microsoft would just be a way for them to make a quick lot of money from people who just want to the consule specific games that they offer. Personally I think it is best to invest in a computer. RPG in which you pay a monthly fee to play pulse the price to buy the game is actually cheaper then buying a new consule game every other month look at it this way. World of warcraft 100 starting price pulse 12-15 a month vs. a consule game every other month. first month wow total price 115 consule 60 third month wow total price 145 consule 120 fifth month wow total price 175 consule 180 Or if you like boring knock offs. Rift 40 starting price pulse 10 a month first month total price rift 50 bucks consule 60 I didn't factor in the price of computers or consule Cause most people already have computers and I didn't want to be "unfair" to consules.
@Gorillababy That's about right, PC gaming is like a prostitute, either it's cheap and crappy,or over expensive and just not worth it.
Or he was implying that PC gaming is and will always be "The one Ring to Rule Them All", and I agree wholeheartedly. Classifying the PC as a prostitute would be quite the contrary, as I don't see the brothel owners showing the PC to the masses; I instead see them showcasing the three consoles, preferably in lingerie and tights. And once the new consoles are out, they will showcase them a little longer, though they will be classified as "ast their prime" and will only be given part-time jobs to the very needy. Then when the buyers will no longer accept them, they are "laid off" and never seen from again, except to those "discount used game stores" which I assume is another innuendo. This is all for money, you understand. I wouldn't want to engage in activity with a complicated set of equipment either. But you do have to understand that once you are comfortable with PCs, it is the best ride you'll ever get.

I get what your saying, but price will always be the issue with PC. I happen to love PC gaming, I just can't afford it... and since I can actually afford a console, I like it better. Like I said, a prostitute that is either extremely good and pricey, or extremely cheap and looks like it may have once been a guy.

Ignoring the fact you disregarded the whole analogy being false, if you know how to build it, the price will in fact be much cheaper than buying one whole, which I hope you haven't been doing all this time. In fact, you can buy parts for your "rostitute" that will be much faster and stronger than those showcased for only a total of ~$150 if you know what to do. But then you see these up-front models being over $250, such as the "new low price" PS3 everyone's talking about these days.
So in conclusion to keep this thread on topic, if we are talking price, it is obvious that the new-generation consoles will be at least $200 more than the reverse-engineered computer parts and it's simple why: you are paying for the name, shell, and hype. And if you still believe the PC analogy....
The innuendo in this thread actually made my night. Do we really need new consoles? Yes, technology is always expanding and creating new things. I do however think consoles should only get an upgrade when something truly spectacular is discovered. I also agree that PC gaming is king of top of the list.

I've looked into it, and the cost of parts to build a good computer is about $1,200 and that doesn't even include an operating system. So in turn you're paying about 4 times the amount to game on PC than on console. And the fact that you have to deal with hackers in anything multiplayer. So in the end you get a cheaper, smoother running, and a better community with consoles.
