Quest for the Throne Many dream of it, few have achieved it. But in the end, power becomes corrupt. -King Yargolek
Chapter I: Foreign Lands Today it is March 28, 1255. I am Jaques the Seeker. My name not heard of, my appearance not recognized. I have no home, for I am a traveller who wanders the lands of Europe. I have joined a caravan to the lands of Calradia. I have heard many things about this place, it being the land of war. Many foreigners have come along here to seek the throne of Calradia, but many have failed. Maybe I shall settle here and aim for the throne as well.
I presume it will take much time and effort. There will be many challenges, and I hope that I just get through them. I am arriving to my destination soon, the Kingdom of the Nords. Hopefully the inhabitants won't be too agressive.
Chapter II: A Troubled Village It is now March 29, 1255. My dark black hair has gone dirty and my worn out fur clothes are almost worthless now. I have arrived in a small village at dawn which contains a few houses and a mill. It isn't much, but I guess it's good enough to stay. Everyone is constantly doing work, I can't get a conversation with anyone.
Earlier the mayor of the village greeted me. He was old but had a kind heart. Apparently there are bandits lurking around here, constantly laying waste to this little settlement, and he wishes I do something about it. At first I declined with a little sorry, but he agreed to arm me enough so that I am able to face them. I agreed with no need of rewards if I banished these attackers, and he handed me a fine, newly crafted wooden sword. Along with that, he also gave me a leather chestpiece and helmet. I think it looks nice, and offers decent protection.
Around noon, the village leader informed me that the bandits come out at night and that I should rest until then. I agreed, and he led me to a little wooden shack on top of a little hill nearby. I stepped inside and looked around. Not much room, a fur bed on the floor and a little storage chest. No light shines in here, but I can keep my sanity by leaving the door open.
It's pretty great. It looks like you're having a little trouble with the pace, though. (I had that problem just a little while ago.) It's turning out pretty well, but you don't have much on here. I hope you post more on.
