K, I'm bored, it was Monday night so I penned and then typed down the variants for three knights from my book. Now, don't expect any miracles.
Nizintia first variant (Steel Banshee): The very first Nizintia armor. It was clad in hardened steel from head to toe, fighting with a Voranite longsword (3 ½ ft). It is known to Voraia's enemies the Steel Banshee, for its helmet gave both a terrifying and glorious sight. Under the plate armor they wear chainmail, which protected gaps in their armor, like in their neck, underarms and backs of their knees. They may have been an intimidating tank of an infantry (or cavalry) soldier, they were very slow, and had restricted vision. They went obsolete, and are now laughed at by Gloians, Shemarks and Sharikans (enemy factions ofo Voraia) for its primeval manor, but it is still respected for its previous standing.
Nizintia second variant: The most iconic of the Voranites is the Nizintia's second variant armor. They wear a suit that looks almost just like the first, but they wear colors and symbols of Voraia. Their armor is made of hardened steel like the first variant, but it isn't as thick. It expands outwards at the breastplate, giving it a better chance of projectiles to repel. They wield the same weapons as the first Nizintia, and they wear the same helmet with some slight adjustments. (It is a box helmet with a T shaped visor) They wear red robes or capes to illustrate defiance to the enemy and to show their importance, thinking that the fact that T'Keth Officers wear bad garments is the most dishonorable to do, being a commander and not show it off. It's more of a defiant act to annoy their adversaries, though, and who would be strong enough to defeat a Nizintia anyway, since the T'Keths and Grethinites are on their side. The Nizintia is used to be a position of leadership; the veterans of war. They go to war with a squire (they wear leather armor and a sword) to help them with their horses, but they usually are used to lead units or troops (20-100 men) around. They are known throughout Mans Telwar and beyond, respected and feared by both their allies and their enemies.
Nizintia third variant (The Nizint): Not really a knight, the Nizint was born to fight solo, carrying numerous weapons such as the Voranite war-hammer (2 ft long, steel) and the Sword of Mans Telwar (4 ft long, hardened steel). They carry shields (3 ft diameter, wooden with iron boss spike) and daggers (can be thrown, 1 ft long steel blade). They wear chainmail over hard leather, for blocking both slashing blows and arrow attacks. They, though, don't wear a helmet and in a frontal assault will stand no chance. The Nizint was created in the time when Anger had control of Mans Telwar. A famous part of this twenty year reign was when the Voranites started an uprising known as the Voranite Rebellion, which lasted for four years before being supressed. The Nizint was created to fight against the heavier armed Hunter soldiers. Their tactics was to surprise them, who would decimate them in a façade assault, and leave no survivors to tell their tale- once, though, they let one Hunter survive to tell that there was an uprising. A big mistake, for Anger knew who were the ones who were hurting his empire. He made a rule that for every Hunter that is killed, ten Voranites are killed. Fifty Hunters had been killed that week, so five hundred Voranites were to be killed- a big mistake for the Hunters. The Voranites rebelled, fighting them out of their capital of Kydonia, without the help of the rebels. Anger sent an entire Legion to go and destroy Kydonia, and the villagers were scattered, and they were interrogated where the headquarters of the resistance was- and they lied, and sent many Nizints for a fake "last stand" against the Hunters- but, their real headquarters was in the Forest of Kalelar- in a city called "the Vault", though, in a second battle they were wiped practically to extinction- which was practically summed up to the rebellion's destruction.
K, give me feedback, good or bad, I'll patch up the problems. Or you can talk to me on my profile. Whichever works for you.
You kinda jump the gun on your changes here, I think it should reflect what each troop was needed for, and more importantly, what the enemy soilder was like.
Your first varient looks like it was made to cut down other armoured troops, in which speed wasn't needed, but the enemy troops evolved, and were quicker, so the Nizitia responded by cutting back their armor, so they could match the speed and not lose the armor-bonus. The enemy troop would have then brough their armor up, since they could match the newly weakened Vorantine armor. The voranite would have responded by increasing their weapon efficiency, and possibly slight armor changes as well. It would have gone on and on and on, with no possible end.
Well, Voraia isn't at constant war with the Gloians, and keep the Nizintia the way they are. The Gloians don't have the resources or the money needed to create another soldier class made to take on one of the three strongest warriors is Mans Telwar. They slightly evolve a bit.
The Gloians are more cavalry type soldiers with heavy spearmen. Their cavalry knights are strong, but not nearly as strong as the Nizintia. The first one was just really bad. It was made to cut down heavy infantry, but the armor costed so much and it required a lot of skill to use it.
The Nizintia changed a bit, yes, but I'm only labeling the larger changes.
The story with the Steel Banshee is that it wasn't finished- it was a prototype, really. It was in the time Garadur, a Voranite separatist was conquering them, and they were desperate- so they launched it, and it wasn't something he had expected, and they were successful- for a while. He got wise, and designed his own soldier type that combated the Nizintia. The second one was made a few years later, when it was complete.
