Okay, so not quite oekaki but close enough. No art section of any board is complete without the "let's all draw quick crappy sketches in MS paint 4 teh lulz" threads.

Here's what you do:

* Draw a picture in MS Paint.
* Upload it here.

Simple!

P.S. I should tell you though, if you can, *index* your file and save as a .gif people with slow connections will thank you. Opening embedded .bmps is a pain.

I think you should have used different colours, so it is not the same red all over.
Shadows would help you a lot defining the creature, and it is not very complicated to draw.

Ya I know, I haven't ever used MS shading b4, and I don't even like shading with a pencil or anything like that. Differen't reds in the flames is a good idea, but again, I really don't know how to shade in MS paint.

The basics would be to find a darker colour of the one you are using, draw out the place where the shade should be and use the floodfill to colour it all.
The shading will be similar to cellshading.
The hard part is to keep the lineout, but if you draw something in black, and gived it a different colour, this should not be a problem.
I am sorry, my advice might not be to any help.

Hey! I just out of nowhere remembered I have a drawing actually done in MS Paint on my computer! Thanks to Cenere's excellent explanation on how to do shading, I remembered I'd done that once...
Thanks Cenere! Also, thoad, do you see that blurriness in the red? I don't know if you like it that way, but to avoid it, save your image as a .bmp instead of a .jpg~ Or, when you're uploading it (because Photobucket converts .bmps to .jpgs), save it as an indexed .gif

Anyways, a random furry, mouse drawn in MS Paint:

@cenere: thanks a ton!
@zophia: ok, I'll save it as a .gif from now on and I did notice the blurryness. I guess it looks kinda cool with a blur though, considering that flames blur in my eyes.

Yeah, with flames it looks good, but on more solid things it can look a bit weird. Good luck on your next piece though.

It is rather ugly and I was lazy with the lines and shadows.
And it is rather random.

This thread needed revival and I felt like drawing Vap. So there. Another wannabePaint thing.

HaHA!
I bring triumph!
Or something... But I actually got my hands on a computer with MS Paint!
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z121/Mazzelh/Paintthingy.png
And yes, I got incredibly lazy with the foreground and highlights (that's why there is none), but... I guess I've just gotten too used to my tablet. Drawing with a mouse is so tedious. >.>
But what do you think?

It's pretty good zoph. Somewhere out there I know there's a space for a graphic novel done entirely in paint. So far the only stuff like that I've seen done with raster apps would be sprite stuff...

Heh, if I had Paint I might consider it - maybe.
Paint is fun... Too bad I forgot about that masking tip, though.
