The first one is probably the best. It looks good, like a real fox, I'm quite impressed for a beginner. The worst is probably the heart, but that's just my opinion.

The advice I would give would be to focus on your shading, the shading can make it look so much more better and real if done right. I don't wanna sound mean, but your shading is quite.. well, all over the place. This is just my opinion, though.

Other than that, it's pretty good. Keep it up, you'll be excellent one day, for a beginner you're not too bad.

Thanks Alot, thanks for the tip about shading... That attempt at shading is what I remember from like 4th grade art class lol

But I'll defiently work it up

If you want me to criticise then I will happily do so. A true artist does everything by freehand, no step by step ladida just simple skill. Amateurish yes, but you did say you were a beginner so I will give you that one.

but i just recently started taking it seriously
To me these pictures don't really look like you are taking it seriously, if you want to take it seriously then start by drawing still life (that always shows if someone is taking drawing seriously.

Advice: If you want to draw seriously then buy your self a pack of either sketching or graphic pencils (2F,F,HB,B,2B,3B). This will make your shading a lot more realistic. May I suggest that if you are just going to "Doodle" then maybe you could colour in the pikatu, and the wolf etc.

Well you defiantly took seriousness to a whole new level, by that I sorta meant that I care what they look like, however I defiantly want to be at that level soon, so thanks Alot for the tips

Nice drawings, Jude. I'll critique each one:
The fox.
The body seems a little too rigid. Try thinking of organic, flowing shapes when you draw living things. Try breaking everything you draw into basic shapes. IE, the torso, which is a sort of round, egg shape, the waist is a more sort of wedge-shape, which gets thinner in the direction of the torso. Lastly, as for shading, try to achieve a wider range of value. Get darker on the belly of the fox, add a bit of implied highlights in order to have the viewer understand where the light source is positioned.

The person.
He's too blocky. Again, think of organic, flowing shapes when you draw living things. Unless you're going for a certain feel, like a macho cartoon figure with a hard jaw, etc. Also, draw what you see, not what you think you see. Eyes aren't rectangular.

Pikachu's good, and as for the heart, the cast shadow is placed a bit awkwardly. I'm not against "smudge" shading, but I feel that you learn a lot more if you shade without smudging.

I agree with IceClaw about the step-by-step process. Art isn't about finding the magic formula on how to draw certain objects.
You have to learn to draw basic shapes, and then apply those to more complex drawings. I'm not saying that you should spend 5 weeks drawing cubes, wedges, egg-shapes, spheres and cylinders, but a bit of practice wouldn't hurt.

In my personal opinion, you don't have to go buy a whole set of drawing pencils. You're just starting out, and a #2 pencil is fine. They give you a pretty decent range of value, enough for now. I draw with ball-point pens most of the time, but when I do use pencil I just stick with the trusty #2. I might use a 3B when I want to get a little darker on serious graphite drawings.
Also, you don't have to draw still-life in order to "take drawing seriously". I'm going to do something that involves drawing in my future, and I don't draw much still-life. I just draw. Draw, draw, draw. Draw everything around you. Just draw you *ss off.

This was probably the longest post I've ever made on AG, lol. Anyways, I hope I wasn't to hard with the critique. Keep drawing.

Hey soap

Thanks a ton for that huge response lol, I defiantly like your tip on drawing living thing, makes sense

And I usually do draw just from the mind, but I often have difficulty picturing what is where and how I can express this and that, so for starting off I thought a step by step guide would work... But I'm done with those

Anywho, cheers mate

The first one was good, and the last was a good try at shading.
