I think most of the video game to movie or vice versa, are for the most part horrible. Can anyone honestly name ONE better-than-good movie to video game?
I believe making a game into a movie is just a bad idea. People who go to see it will mostly be people who played the game, and most times you'll get disappointed when things are left out or not how you experienced them, like books.
Making a movie into a game seems more logical since you are turning it into an interactive experience.
Of course both can go utterly wrong but this is mostly based on opinion. I can assume people who make video games don't have experience making movies, and vice versa, which kind of puts a wrench in the deal.
Maybe some games are meant to stay games, and some movies are meant to stay movies.
It can be a box office hit or a total bust, but hey, people on Youtube with a 1000$ budget can make better films then half of the crap Hollywood is pulling out, I say take these people (who have probably PLAYED THE ACTUAL GAME), and give them a 16.2 million dollar budget.
It really depends on how the writers & directors would make the plot. Most of the time, the plot from the game itself is involved, but it lacks a lot of twists in the movies, making it more predictable for gamers who watch it. I find most of the plots very shallow & bland
