Skyrim. Hands-down, i could've said Batman: Arkham City, Dark Souls, Deus-Ex:Human Revolution, Portal 2, Uncharted 3, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Little Big Planet 2, BattleField and many more, but none could match the EPICNESS of SKYRIM.
Skyrim of course. There wasn't a game this year which could match the new Elder Scrolls game, well maybe it's competitor Zelda but that's a wii game so I only spent a small 10 hours with it at my friends house.

Skyward sword really didn't live up to my expectations at all. It wasn't bad (Truthfully, I haven't finished the game yet, but I'm more than 20 hours in so I think I can have an opinion) but it certainly could have been a lot better.
I've never played any of whatever series Skyrim belongs to, (That was the first I had ever heard of the game series) and I've never played Assassin's Creed either, so idk.
I've heard a lot of great things about Portal 2 though, unfortunately I haven't played that either so I can't really say.

I guess I am the lone soul of AG who has played Dark Souls , which is my GoTY. The sense of achievement you get from beating a boss you have struggled for hours upon hours has surpassed any game I have played so far(other than Demon's Souls). I teared up a bit when I beat this beast and I am prepared for a giant leap of difficulty in New Game+.
Possible games that should be GOTY.. Portal 2 (If already not but I think it is...) COD MW3 Skyrim Uncharted 3 And possibly BattleField 3 if we didn't review single player But the one that deserves it most would have to be COD MW3 in my opinion.
Portal 2 in my personal opinion. An amazing story, a beautiful game, great voice acting, creative puzzles. Fun co-op to play with your buddy. It's just so good.
