Think of it when people buy a new game they r all excited that they have the game they've been always wanted but they figure out thats its just some dumb game when they start playing it put ur opinion here.
Gaming as compared to it's early starts has changed vastly. In the beginning it only catered to a small audience of nerds. Now, however, gaming has become more socially accepted, and thus, more games are being produced. Obviously since games back then were for a smaller audience, the ratio of good to bad games was maybe 3:5. In present day, the ratio of good to bad games is more of 3:7, and that's because more studios are trying to come up with newer ideas to attract the newer, and vast, audience. In conclusion, I'd say that since gaming is different from what it was back then, you probably can't say that it is either better or worse. That's like comparing rock and rap. The genres are respectively different.
There's always going to be bad games and good games. I don't buy a whole lot of games. But I think that some games are heading in the direction. CoD has clearly gone downhill but I don't blame them, it's hard to keep up with expectations when you've already made about 8 games (I think) that are pretty similar in style.
5 games, they'v made 5 games that are similar (5 since CoDMW which was lots different from the first 3) and they really hit a low one with MW3, but they're changing it up a whole lot with BO2. i say better, just better.
Some games have gotten A LOT better like the pokemon series, and the mario series. Although some games got better in graphics, 3D and effects, but the gameplay and the story is not that good.
i think that games have gotten better in audio and picture quality but games nowadays are really quite short because with some of the new games i could finish them whithin a week but with some older games it takes me about a month
I agree with most people, Games now are all about the graphics, They have barely any playing time in it it is mostly cinematic's, and there is completely no plot at all. So I would say they are generally getting worse.
