Well you see I use to love this game. I would play at least 4 hours a day every day. I had two accounts one lvl 96 who got hacked than permad, and a lvl 85 who got hacked....So I was wondering, is starting all over really worth it?
Hey i'm level 83 on rs. Name is cycloolephin. Um...I think that rs is awesome. Apart from armorgames, it's my favourite game/game site. Any advice on making money lol? I stink at it. But anyways, if you're looking for a good MMORPG, runescape is THE best.
Ok think about it. Most of you who say the game isn't worth it are people who got hacked, which is mostly your own fault for not setting a decent password and recovery questions. The bank PIN would've helped too. I've had my account for 8+ years, leaving it untouched for years at a time and it has never been hacked. And for those who say it's nerdy, you are sitting here on a flash site commenting about it. And yes, I know I'm commenting on it too.
I barely ever play anymore, but I still think it is a worthwhile game, I play it every once in awhile and still enjoy it a bit, and then every once in awhile I fall into those bouts where I play it for hours everyday until I grow bored and not touch it for months or years.
I'm not trying to troll or anything, but I can't stand it when people state something without proof. Saying you got hacked doesn't make the game stupid, because it was your own fault.
Leoneri, I agree with you completely (especially the nerdy part lol). I've played it for about a year and a half, and I don't play it as much as I used to, but I still go on a bit. I still enjoy it. Being hacked does NOT make the game stupid. It's partially your fault, and partially the hacker's. It does not make the game bad, it's just you obviously didn't care about the fact that there are several things in place to protect your account.
I played for 5+ years. I had a lv 102 with 100m+. About a year ago I gave away all my cash and quit cause i didnt like it anymore. Still have my account cause I'm not a noob. Getting hacked is for noobs. And if ur a noob u wouldn't appreciate the game as much cause it is only seen from a noob perspective. When I played it I liked it. There was always something to do, especially when you play with rl friends. We mostly competed to make more money than anybody else and keep our standing of financial power (chasing phats).
I admit, the game jagex tries to get people to play is stupid and boring (kinda like a primitive WOW), but the things that kept most of the population going was the activities you don't get into until you are an expert. Merchanting, staking (gambling on fights), scamming, mini-games (takes $$ to be good at), pking (takes $$ to be good at). Those are the things that rs had that no other game has and kept it addicting. It felt good to be wealthy because it was a sign that you were an elite player. And when you aren't wealthy it was motivation to play to become one of those worshiped.
To say runescape is a waste of life gets into philosophy. What isn't a waste of life? Thats a conversation we don't want to get into.
NOW (after i quit) runescape is not worth playing. They didn't like how people morphed their game into a merchanting/staking/pking game instead of a quest/story game they intended. They got rid of merchanting, staking, and pking so now all thats left is a primitive WOW.. not worth playing.
Totally agree with Leo and Silent. Runescape is a pretty good online game but if you hate it if you get hacked, not our fault you didn't put security on your account. That what Jagex keeps telling us in the game. Like Barbarian Stronghold. That tells you to keep it safe. I've played for almost a year, never hacked. So stop acting all nooby and get over it
