Here's a way to show other, less heard of bands, the limelight. Just to even the playing field. Here, I'd like people to name any bands they may know that others haven't heard of. Tell how you may have found them, and a few songs that you like. You never know. You may find someone you like. I'll start:
One some people may not know is Modest Mouse (Lead singer:Isaac Brock, drummer:Jeremiah Green, bassist:Eric Judy, and guitaristann Gallucci) . I've actually gotten into this group was from Weird Al. One of his Most recent polkas "Polka Power" had a section of Modest Mouse's song "Float On." I looked up the song, and got hooked. Some of their songs include "Float On", "Ocean Breathes Salty", and "Dashboard."
HAHA! Another chance to attempt to bring one of my favourite bands into the limelight! Nahemah is a Spansish progressive death metal band. Melodic, but still heavy, their album The Second Philosophy is the best thing since sliced bread. Seriously, listen to all of their songs on the myspace link there.
Also, another great band are The Butterfly Effect. Sort of popular in Australia, I don't think they've had success elsewhere. Hard rock/alternative rock band

Porcupine Tree Album:In Absentia If you like progressive,alternative and psychedelic rock this band is awesome.What is all the more fantastic about this band is that it's not really a band.Porcupine tree is One man who write all the tabs and the lyrics (except for drums).It's amazing if you want my opinion.
Old school Genesis is fabulous if you like progressive rock. Old school:Trespass,Nursery cryme,Foxtrot,Sellin England by the pound Everything that came later on is very bad;things like Abacab and Duke...(These are albums by the way).
