haha.. I nabbed a minidisc player around 8 years ago when all the cool kids had them. Since then, I've pretty much been happy with my music-enabled cell phone, until my friend got me an iPod. It's nice, I'm not going to lie, and I was probably the last person on earth who didn't have ANY digital mp3 player. But if it were my own money, I'd probably stick to my cell phone.
The real advantage of an iPod, or any portable mp3 AND video player is during long trips. When I'm stuck in a car with a friend driving all the way to vegas, watching TV shows for 4 hours is the way to go.
mp3 i don't care much for the i pod b/c everyone has one and its just making everyone a slave to the i pod brand while taking away people's uniqueness.
I love Creative they work so well. I understand why iPods are so popular but I wouldn't want one. Any way I have just ordered a new ZEN and it should arrive in a couple of days. Can't wait!
An Ipod is an Mp3 player... If you were going to compare iPod to Zune, well then Ipod gets my vote, because I have a Ipod touch and it is the coolest damn toy. i can access the internet-- full access, GPS, EMAIL, everything
Ipods are much more modren, MP3 players are just music players really. Ipods have games, movies, videos, podcasts, TV shows and loads of music space. iPods are just brilliant really.
both ipods and mp3s are of the same quality in the high end of the market, but i have to say that, for me, iTunes is immeasurably more user friendly than Windows media player and the music organiser type programs you get with other mp3s, even the colour scheme is so much more appealing! Then again, they have the big disadvantage of not just being able to plug into any old computer and upload files and/or music, you need iTunes last time i checked, has that changed? Looks-wise, i love zen mp3s just as much as iPods! I think the iPhone is a slightly different matter, though many other touch screen phones have internet, and mine has an 8mp camera too, and music player, the iPhone is just reaaally sleek haha. well, thats my opinion!
I'll take a good non i-pod MP3 player over the Apple IPod any day. You get more storage for your money with most MP3 players. Why spend hundreds of dollars on a music player that holds less music? I've got a Creative Zen Sleek MP3 player, I've got 20 gigs of music and it cost the same amount as the Ipod nano with 8 gigs (about 3 years ago I bought it). Also, itunes requires Quicktime...which really can mess up your computer. Also, to those of you who think MP3 players only play music... that's not true, most do the exact same thing as Ipods (movies, shows, pictures, calendar, even games...) Well, that's my opinion...
I'd most DEFINETLY go with an Mp3 player, I HATE the apple company, all they are out for is money, pretty much everything that has to do with ipods have to do with them getting money. Also, I hate all the protection crap that apple puts on their itunes format of music. It makes it so hard to give music to other people. Mp3 players can play any format of music, whereas ipods can only play one format of music. The ipod/itunes industry is corrupt with money. Unforunately right now I have an ipod, but that is only because i got it for free and it had a larger capacity than my older mp3 player. The ipod works, but it is rather frustrating. If I were to buy another Mp3 player, it would definetly be by Creative.
