Ignore the title. My dog wrote it ^^
Moving on.

So, what do you know that's special about your neighbourhood, town, city, district, state, province, country, etc?

Anything that's unique, totally random (like cranberry juice was invented there) and so on.

There's nothing special where I live as far as I know 0_o

Explain

According to the official web site of the state of Tennessee, the nickname the Volunteer State comes from the record number of volunteers the state provided during both the War of 1812 and the Mexican War.

Well I used to live in Carmel California and John Madden lived there. My mom also waited on him. And the mayor is Clint Eastwood.

I won't really say where I live, but my town/city is really close to Mt. Shasta. That's all I could think of at the top of my head...

@Green
I meant which area were you talking about? The whole Illinois, or just Bloomington

Ahh, just Bloomington. Illinois however is known for its corrupt governors, lately at least. I'm thinking that somewhere I heard 4 of the last 8 have been corrupt.

I live in the province which is the oil and beef capital of Canada.

KISS played their very first arena concert tour date in my home city.

We hosted the 1978 Commonwealth Games.

@Cenere- In the background of the second picture it looks like a lot of smoke towers. Must be really smoggy there.

@Tennisman:
Actaully no. That is the habour area on the other side of the habour. So it is not any worse than anything else.
