Well I don't want any graphic responses, but you know to me it seems like they should be classified as prostitutes. One may say that they aren't because both parties are payed, I think this makes them qualify in the area of double-hookerdom. Anyone else?
Which brings us to the definition of prostitutes: people who sell their body for money
Pornstars can be prostitutes. Just because they probably wouldn't have sex with just anyone for sex, doesn't mean that the act of getting paid to have sex is not prostitution, they are selling their physical bodies to the creators of the porn and the watchers of the porn, as well as offering it freely to the individuals who they share the act with.
Porn isn't a public service, if it were it would be like PBS, funded by the federal or local governments somehow. Also it would probably be on regluar television as well.
Pornography is publicly available, however, through certain TV stations and magazines and internet, whilst prostitution is a completely private service.

Something being publicly available doesn't make it a public service.
public serviceâ â"noun 1. the business of supplying an essential commodity, as gas or electricity, or a service, as transportation, to the general public. 2. government employment; civil service. 3. a service to the public rendered without charge by a profit-making organization: This radio program has been brought to you as a public service.
I would say porn is a prostitution, a normally private service, commissioned paid for and distributed by individuals who want to make money off of it.
NO. porn is not private, it is people having sex/masturbating being recorded, and having a lot of other people watch it. The pornstars don't get paid by people they have sex with (other pornstars) they get paid by their company.
I didn't say porn was private man, I just said that prostitution is a normally private act, and that porn is taking that normally private act of having sex for money and taping it and selling it.
Prostitute: to offer indiscriminately for sexual intercourse especially for money -Webster's dictionary
Now this is the only valid argument against my point of view I have heard so far. The indiscriminately part is the one that makes the argument valid, porn people don't necessarily have sex indiscriminately for money, as they are almost always having sex with people who are within the same profession as themselves...a point to alt. Or should I say Caleb, HAHAAH!
Call me Alt, please. I prefer it to Caleb on the interwebz. Or, call me Chill. It's my rl nickname. --- I've been getting a lot of comment lately, and need a break. I'll reopen them tomorrow.
okay... well i just asked you on the get to know you thing if I could call you by your real name, but I think now, I will respect your wishes...can I come up with my own nickname for you? it won't be bad I swear...and I know that probably sounds like it will be bad, the way that I just said that, but it won't be. Perhaps we should discuss it in comments to one another tomorrow, I will send you a list of possible ones and you can pick, or something like that.
