Hello and welcome to my theoretical living room :P I hope you are sitting comfortably. In this thread, I will post my ideas, concepts and random pictures and stuff, feel free to post because I do want your opinions of course .

I'll start off with one of my game ideas. Quite a while back, I started making mazes, but not just any ordinary mazes! No.. a color maze!

Well what is a color maze you ask? A color maze is a maze where there are different colored walls that you can walk through if you pick up the corresponding colored circle by walking over one. So in short you can go through a maze to one spot, then the spot opens up new opportunities and a whole new maze! Well I'm sure there are lots of people who have already thought of this idea... but I don't think many people see the potential of this!

Part 1 - Introduction
Rule 1: You start at the point labeled 'S' and the objective of the game is to get to 'F'
Rule 2: When you start the maze, you cannot go through any wall. Once you have walked over a spot, a red spot for example
http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/7806/redspot.png
you become that spots color and you can then walk through walls of the spots corresponding color, red walls on this example. You cannot be two colors at the same time, you can be blue or red, but not blue and red, or purple for that matter.
Rule 3: The mazes I will post will clearly be divided into squares, if you go inside a square with a spot in it, you have to walk over the spot. You cannot 'dodge' the spot even if there is a few pixels of space.
Rule 4:There are black walls that you can never go through, you can never go through black walls because black spots don't exist in this game.

Summary:

-Here, you start at S, when you go right, you become red. Now that you are red, you can go through the red wall and into F. You have finished this maze! Give yourself a pat in the back.
-Note that you cannot go right and dodge the red spot and bash yourself against the red wall, neither can you even get to the blue spot because you would need to walk over a black spot to get there, there is no black spot in the game.

omg lol that would take ages to make and would indeed be a monster maze, though I'm considering that idea for one of my later mazes, thank you!

It was definitely more complex but it didn't take too long. There weren't enough red herrings. It did take a while to get past the second part because there was a "red" herring. Once you get it in your head that this is a maze with shifting walls, it gets pretty linear.

I'm quite disappointed that my maze was too easy but I will have my revenge! just wait..

Hey peeps, It's been a long time since I last posted here, sorry to say I don't have any new mazes, but I promise that I'll post one that's more complex and 3 times bigger than the last, by tomorrow >.< I won't be doing the color mazes for a while afterward because it takes aages to make.

-----------------------------------------------------

I got a working digital camera now so I can start drawing pictures on paper and photographing them now Here's what I drew so far;

I'm not very good at drawing people I know, the focus of this drawing is the shading of the robes. The source of light is top left.

This is great, although, there is a flash game called Gravor or something like that.... Heh, fun. :P

It's a shame Gravor is not really the same, the floors are colored, as opposed to walls being colored, this changes the layout of mazes considerably. Also changing your color immediately kills you if you are partly standing on a different colored floor, so you have to design mazes to have no color limitation around the colored spinning things. This severely limits the maze's complexity. And you spend time trying to avoid walls and wrong colored floors instead of devoting all your time thinking of the solution. It's a good game for what it is though, but it's not like my mazes.

I just felt like adding color to the drawings

The lion with the added color is pretty sweet, very well done.

Also the robe is excellently done as well.

I like the maze with the teleports, it was fun. :3
Been quite a while since I last made my way through a maze~

I also think you did a quite good job on the colouring of that lion~

ddx, we all know how lazy i am right. be thankful i actually read a little of drejen's big thing.

@drejen. i didnt know that by teleporters you meant, adding them in your mazes. misunderstood them. good job with the drawings. you should probably draw mages in paper from now on

Wow, that maze was certainly a step up from the last one. Took me a loooong time to get it. I got stuck after hitting the blue dot in the lower right-hand corner (the one slightly further away from the corner). It's kinda hard to distinguish some of the blue walls from the black.

Very nicely done though, a very fun challenge.

Nice to hear at least one person has done it ^^ well done. I was worried that I might have taken it too far . I suppose the blue walls are a bit hard to differentiate, maybe I should use light blue or something

Yeah that would help. I don't know if I did it the way you intended cuz it felt like there was a lot of stuff I didn't use. Can't wait for the next one
