Hello and welcome to my theoretical living room :P I hope you are sitting comfortably. In this thread, I will post my ideas, concepts and random pictures and stuff, feel free to post because I do want your opinions of course .

I'll start off with one of my game ideas. Quite a while back, I started making mazes, but not just any ordinary mazes! No.. a color maze!

Well what is a color maze you ask? A color maze is a maze where there are different colored walls that you can walk through if you pick up the corresponding colored circle by walking over one. So in short you can go through a maze to one spot, then the spot opens up new opportunities and a whole new maze! Well I'm sure there are lots of people who have already thought of this idea... but I don't think many people see the potential of this!

Part 1 - Introduction
Rule 1: You start at the point labeled 'S' and the objective of the game is to get to 'F'
Rule 2: When you start the maze, you cannot go through any wall. Once you have walked over a spot, a red spot for example
http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/7806/redspot.png
you become that spots color and you can then walk through walls of the spots corresponding color, red walls on this example. You cannot be two colors at the same time, you can be blue or red, but not blue and red, or purple for that matter.
Rule 3: The mazes I will post will clearly be divided into squares, if you go inside a square with a spot in it, you have to walk over the spot. You cannot 'dodge' the spot even if there is a few pixels of space.
Rule 4:There are black walls that you can never go through, you can never go through black walls because black spots don't exist in this game.

Summary:
http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/3185/part1backandforth.png
-Here, you start at S, when you go right, you become red. Now that you are red, you can go through the red wall and into F. You have finished this maze! Give yourself a pat in the back.
-Note that you cannot go right and dodge the red spot and bash yourself against the red wall, neither can you even get to the blue spot because you would need to walk over a black spot to get there, there is no black spot in the game.

You should have to touch almost all the colored spots to get to the end, and used all the teleporters. Are you sure you only teleported to teleporters you already touched and didn't go through the wrong walls? :|

Yeah I think so, I double checked after I was done, I could draw up a solution tomorrow and dive it to ya if you wanna see.

If you are double sure that you didn't make a mistake I accept, it is tediously long drawing each individual wall so I could easily have made a few shortcuts by accident while making that big maze, also read your profile more ^^

sorry for double post

Oops I meant I made a comment on your profile, it came out wrong and rude >.<

Redid the puzzle after realizing I went through a portal I didn't even touch. Only need 6/15 color spots and 2/7 portals.

There is a trivial solution that leaves a loop but I have found no other solutions. It uses 7/15 color spots and 3/7 portals.

I went through the maze myself and I don't see any of these alternative and trivial solutions, alternative paths only lead to dead ends and going back to an earlier part of the maze, I mean even if I made a mistake, It shouldn't be possible to do it by touching only 2 or 3 that's just proposterous! Can you please post the a screenshot of how you did it? Or make sure that you are indeed doing the maze right. I don't mean to seem rude but I spent a lot of time on that maze.

Solution 2.1

Shortest Path: 6 colors, 3 portals
Least Portals: 6 colors, 2 portals
Yellow Dot Path: 8 colors, 5 portals

Black arrows denote the shortest path.
Magenta arrows denote optional paths.

The shortest path requires Magenta I.

Least Portals uses Magenta II.

The Yellow Dot Path uses Magenta I and Magenta III (Magenta II is optional here). Magenta III gets a little confusing. The first time it passes the portal near S without going through. The second time it passes the portal near S it goes through.

Why am I seeing some paths traverse through both red and orange walls? You can be red, you can be orange, you can't be both. I couldn't really make out much else of the solution because theres a lot of lines >.<

I knew there was something odd. That wasn't my original solution. because the other path seemed a lot longer.

Correct Solution 2.1
Trivial Loop 1
Trivial Loop 2

Yeah thats valid, great solve! You caught me out!

Yeah that is shorter than I intended.
The reason being is, you see, I based the maze around "main" teleporters.
Basically the main teleporters act as a hub where you teleport to in order to complete a small maze, change your color, and teleport back to where you were before, thus continuing your journey.
I forgot that according to my rules, you can teleport between any teleporters that you have already touched. Which gives the player too much freedom on the maze I have designed.

The main teleporters are;
-The two teleporters near the start 'S'
-The closest teleporter to the finish 'F'

If you want another challenge and play the maze like it's intended to be played, play by the additional rules;
-You cannot teleport from an ordinary teleporter to another ordinary teleporter
-When standing on a main teleporter, you can teleport to another main teleporter or the most recent ordinary teleporter you have touched. (To prevent the use of main teleporters as 'gateways' between two ordinary teleporters)

I don't think it will be much more of a challenge for you though because you grasped the teleporting system very well

Next time I make another maze, I'll take this occurrence into account and hopefully avoid another mess like this :|

I edited the maze a bit;
-I made "main" teleporters look different (read previous post).
-Blue walls and spots shaded a brighter color
-Fixed two misplaced walls that prevents the intended solution

I also drew the solutions:
1st part
2nd part
3rd part
4th part

I haven't posted here in a while. I made another color maze, although I accidentally saved over my solution picture. I initially made the solution the only path and then added more paths, but I can't double check the solution right now because I forgot the solution :/.

Rules are simple;
-start at S and get to F
-if you touch a color circle and you will be able to pass through walls of that same color.
-you can only have one color at a time
-you can pick up a key by entering the tile it is on
-you must use a key to enter a tile with a lock on it, this destroys the lock and the key
-you can save up a number of keys

Here is the maze:

I definitely made mistakes making that maze ...

:P So are we allowed to pass through walls to actually get to the exit? Didn't realize how impossible t was until I decided to back trace.
