If I was a pencil, I dun think I would care, because pencils do not have a mind. If I was conscious, aware of the change and what I was, I would more likely be confused, but take it as an experience, because I could do nothing about it.
A pencil that's not sharpend is a virgen pencil plain and simple. I mean it 'lives' to be sharpend, then it lives it's life out and dies. (Get's short)
I wouldn't want to be a pencil because I don't really want to be used as a writing tool. I don't want my head to break off multiple times due to a aggresive person.

Hmmmm good point, I guess I'd rather just be a human. Unless....I was a pen, that has a hose connected to a huge pot of ink where someone dumps ink every day. And the ratio of me writing and sucking up ink is uneven so I think that could work out.
you know pencil also is used as a term for men's thing. just telling ya and if you were a pencil, you had be a non living thing so wont be able to feel or do anything cause you need to have life in you
