Anyways, if you spam, your spam is deleted so you lose those points anyway. If there were demerits, it would unbalance the post comment ratio, and we would have users with negative points.

But you would lose 3 AP for spamming... 2 AP = Comment -2 AP = Comment deleted -1 AP = For spamming You would actually lose about 3 AP is you do so that could be a good reason.

As for the members that really do not care about AP, as it has no real value at all, it would not work. As i've said before, the mod's would jsut ban.
People that don't care about AP don't spam intentionally.
So you're saying that every person that doesn't especially care for AP would spam? That would be a good reason not to spam, as there would be no positive outcome, but they could still spam just for the fact that they can.

This is very correct, if that rule was in effect, it wouldn't stop people from spamming. the poeple who try to earn AP usually watch how they are typing, rather than those would could care less and wright what ever

As they are the ones that usually become active, and in that period of activity, they usually learn that AP is not as valuable as when they first joined.
