So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
Don't play with player ookazi. He cheats (builds restricted units from a game type) and will call you a cheater too if you beat him doing it. He builds missiles in safe skies, and my PARTNER builds msisiles in safe skys. And calls me a hacker in public chat lol.... Now when i try to join a game with him, he talks to his foreign friend and makes him kick me by saying i'm a hacker. ROfl.
also nume, the sphinxs have a much lower range than hovers so they don't quite play into the hover build
True. The sphinx is pretty useless due to low range. You have to cover it with snipers and meds.
It was all thanks to me. sure Krin updated the game, but at 3:00pm I got on and noone was on. I was thinking everyone was on kong and I was right. I brought most of the Kong players to AG yesturday.
Ok...
The only options they have if they're being mowed by Snipers is either to spam Romans (which are easily out-microed, and can be killed easily once you reach 8 or so Snipers), Marines (they die in one shot), Tanks (Even more easily out-microed than the Roman), or Scouts. Scouts are really the only "right" answer to Snipers, since Snipers have terrible AA damage. If they start to mass up Scouts, you just make Marines.
One Black Queen, and they're dead. I've had that happen to me. Oh yeah, and a Sphinx isn't good either, if it gets into range. And Phantoms, they'll kill a lot until you destroy it.
Medics do not heal 3 hp per shot, it depends on the unit.
The Sphinx takes about 10 meds to keep up with. I wonder how much damage a marine can do to a Sphinx...
Ah, Black Queens are most definitely the bane of Snipers. Luckily, they are a HUGE investment in resources, and a single Sphynx will clean house with the Black Queens.
Phantoms are hard to deal with...until you reach the critical amount needed to kill them in just one or 2 shots. If they get a Phantom out earlier, bring your snipers back and regroup. If they continue to mass Phantoms, spam Marines until they're gone and your opponent can't mass Phantoms any longer.
Oh, and with the testing I've done so far, it seems the current armor types are Light, Chronite (Heavy), Titanium, and Special. Missile Resistance may be a separate factor by itself, however, which is why I'm saving it for the end. Also, some units deal different amounts of damage to Air and Ground (Duh), so I need, currently 8 categories, as well as the HP, Armor Type, the 4 resources, and building categories.
I do not know if the Composite armor of the Sphynx is truly a different armor type. It sounds like it's just Chronite, but I'll know once I get there.
As for Spreadsheet progress, I have finished analysis of the Post/Rax/Arsenal units, save for the Black Queen. I have gotten every analysis against different types of units save for against Special Air (which I believe the BQ is, although it MIGHT be Chronite, since it is called heavy armor)
Something I found interesting is that, well, for one, each unit deals different damage to different armors; that is, Special Armor isn't necessarily better than Chronite, for example. Also, there seems to be very little differentiation between Special and Titanium; there is some, so it does warrant a new armor category.
Also, Modified versions of units seem to share the same armor type as their original, despite being called modified armor. The modified armor probably refers to the increased HP.
Composite armor is not the same as chronite. Chronite takes less damage from weaker weapons. Piston weapon type still does extra damage to it. Composite, i believe that weaker weapons do full damage to it, and stronger weapons (like piston) get reduced greatly. Modified armor probably means that they take less damage (armor value).
I was talking about the description of the Mod. Sakata and Mod. Spider, actually. It says they have more durable armor, but they are just Titanium and Chronite respectively, like their original forms. The "more durable" probably just refers to the fact that they have more HP.
Also, surprisingly, Groditz deal pretty high damage to Special and Titanium. New BQ counter? Although the BQ missile one shots them.
Oh, and Soy: I'm going to be posting the list because with feedback, the list can be improved. I don't want this game to become a "Hey, if you wasted countless hours figuring out the math behind the game" type of game. I want to help the community.
Besides, actually KNOWING the math will not help much other than revealing cool stats of certain units (e.g. Groditz's anti-Special and anti-Titanium power).
