So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
The strategy I mentioned before has proven to be almost unbeatable in Earthquake, Normal and No Missiles. I'm going to paste an edited version of the build order:
Capitalists- This is super important
1. Armory (Set on Money) 2.Armory (Also set on Money) 3. Barrack 4. Upgrade barrack 5. While the barrack is upgrading, you should have the resources to make a generator. 6. Put one armory on Energy and let it make it once. then set it back to money 7. Upgrade barrack to Tier-3. While upgrading, put both armories on Population. 8. Sit and wait, upgrade the generator if you really want to make a modified spider. 9. Start spewing out Hover Tanks and Queens! You can wait to make them or just make a few every minute.
The disadvantages to this strat is it's prone to rushers. Also, missiles will turn your army to putty. And then, when your opponent builds an appropriate sized Phantom/sakata army, you will be crushed. Otherwise, your opponent can only counter this with a Sphinx and loads of meds.
Zeke and quicksmasher. Blackqueen's missiles does NOT do 9001 damage to composite and special. It would also be nice if you could list the heal increments of the meditec for each unit.

This can be countered by pretty much any Monarchy tactic...

Nope: Hovers will easily take out Special Ops units. Add a Queen for air support, and they've got a tough time.
I've managed to beat a Sphinx through sheer pressure of this strategy: Getting it close to their base to prevent meds from spawning, and making hovers. But yeah, Monarchy in general can beat this strategy. But you'd be surprised how few do that...
The counter to Hover Tanks is epic Sniper micro (at least, in post vs post)
Also, I think I proved that 1 Hover Tank > Infinite Tanks, given that you can basically just micro forever against them. And people said that Chronites were more cost effective than Hovers ^_^
Did you forget that Hovers outrange Chronites? I was running some tests with another person on this thread, and I destroyed around 20 Chronites with a single Hover Tank. Chronites are utterly useless against Hovers; only the Snipers are actually doing anything.
Even then, a single Sphynx will render basically all Sniper attacks useless. I doubt that a bunch of Chronites, Snipers, and Medics will beat a Sphynx, Hovers, and Medics, even if severely outnumbered.
Except Hovers outrange Hover Tanks, so you can micro them. If you make a mistake, you'll say bye to a lot of your Hovers; however, even if just one survives, you're given another chance to outmicro the opponent.

OK. I'm on right now, but you seem... 12 hours away. Sorry. My username is obvious though: ulimited1.

Only if you have a defense of Hover tanks or Hovers as well. Otherwise the opponent only needs to send out his tanks to get the snipers and they're dead.
Actally 30 Chronite Tanks can kill a Hover Tank army or reduce the Hover Tank numbers greatly due to splash.
If your opponent lets you spam chronite tanks, they're pretty dumb.

Haha. When I was Monarh, I used to make a Modified Phantom from the Armory (my first building) and massacre whatever ground unit he made. Almost always works (Unless they somehow make Sakatas).
I find all you need is 4 queens and you can take them out but... wot if they have 4 queens too
The reason I make Hover Tanks is because I don't want to risk getting killed by Sakatas or one Pride (I cried when two of my Queens got massacred by one Pride. Then I sent two Hovers and it was gone). Queens are only useful when your opponents only make ground units for some reason.

Unless they don't make meds (Which is dumb because they have a hospital.) I've seen that happen, I laughed when I smashed his army with 15 Hover Tanks.
