I used to play the games and still do occasionally. The first ones up to Emerald and that generation were great (and Pokémon Emerald is still by far my favourite), the Pókemon were new and creative and the games were interesting; the graphics were as good as they needed to be and the graphics were perfect for a quick GBA gaming experience. I purchased Pokémon Diamond a few months back for the Nintendo DS and was very disappointed: the graphics looked too good for the game, and the Pokémon had lost all their imagination; to me it looked like someone had gone into paint and put a couple of circles together and then drawn a face on the front. I really dislike the games this generation, and personally, I will now refuse to buy the new Pokémon games.
The television series wasn't what I like. It was repetitive, lacked imagination, and was like a fantasy book series: it never bloody ended.
The cards were good for a n00by card gamer! :P (I have about 4000 . . . But since then have found better card games) The combat was interesting but slightly lacking creativity and it made an easy and cheap card collection.
Pokemon card were awesome! do they still even make them? i always used to play and trade them with my friends when i was little :]
They are still making them. How would the new Pokémon players whom have only played this generation's games buy cards with Pokémon they know?
All in all, it was quite good, and definitely
was not a major fail. If so it would not be the most famous game by Nintendo (besides Mario and maybe the Legend of Zelda), have one of the most sold games, have one of the longest running animé series, have a massive player base,
and a successful card game.
By the way, your title is fucked. :P
