This is not a complete idea, and its mostly for the active, who always right an complete post, where theres more than one word or a smiley like "I like the game" or "Sucks".
I think many users here on AG, just write in these topics to gain quick APS, so i was thinking, why dont just remove the AP?
It would deffiently make lots of more users inactive, but then ArmorGames would be a community where only the most constructive members was posting!
When i say, remove AP, i dont mean like remove the whole system, but remove some of the ways to gain APS. We could remove some of these things: (1 Gain AP for posting (2 Gain AP for commenting
And then only get AP for merits or submitting a game!

Yes, that is true, but most of the comments aren't even real. I garuntee you most of the people who comment do not even play the game they are commenting on, and tthey probably give rates based on what the game already has been rated for.
I think that the amount of AP should be reduced, not removed, or at least get some people out there to pay attention to those who give long, thoughtful rates. I remember seeing a rate for Knightfall 2 that was freakishly long, and thought out, but nobody noticed it because users giving 1 word rates bump it down, and no moderators actually check for them...
I disagree with editing or removing ways to get APs the only things why I joined armor games was to save favourite games and...I guess you knew it...the APs because it's funny to earn points and you don't need any tactics or skills
and there are also many useful comments and why should somebody write a whole paragraphe when he just thinks "boring game" or "cool, pretty funny"

i think the AP for commenting on the forums should be removed. i don't care when people put "good" or "8" as a game comment, but when people do that for the forums,it messes up the reason for a forum. Instead of people talking and discussing things and issues, people post things they actually think, and don't care for the topic. So, the forum posting AP should be removed.
well, it is a good idea. but users that actually use the rules correctly won't get enough cred they should get. i mean would stop people from abusing commenting to get AP. but there would still be spammers. not much of a difference. just no AP. and if they get the ap and they are spammers just dont give them the respect others get.
Then the forum would be as deserted as Susan Boyle's...lady parts. You probably would not have even replied to the thread if you didn't get one point from it. And that would just influence people to post more useless comments even more than they already do, as that would be the only way to gain points that isn't either limited or difficult to obtain. Think of the points as an incentive to post in the forum.
Also, the more posts you have, the better it looks on your profile. But does it make sense to you to have a Wood Serf with 3,500 posts? It certainly does not make any sense to me. I'm sure you probably agree with me.
There have enough threads begging for more ways to make AP, but one that's asking to remobe AP features? Ouch.

Posting as in what? Commenting games or Forum posts? Because their isn't actually that much spam in the forums.
Many people will agree with me, that about 50%+ of all high ranking users (Ranks 1000 or higher). This is because they have spent a lot of time talking with other users, or asking/giving advice. If comments had no AP value, my points would drop to a flimsy 1100 AP. If comments and forum posts were removed, my AP would 296 AP, which would make look like a newbie.
