This is not a complete idea, and its mostly for the active, who always right an complete post, where theres more than one word or a smiley like "I like the game" or "Sucks".
I think many users here on AG, just write in these topics to gain quick APS, so i was thinking, why dont just remove the AP?
It would deffiently make lots of more users inactive, but then ArmorGames would be a community where only the most constructive members was posting!
When i say, remove AP, i dont mean like remove the whole system, but remove some of the ways to gain APS. We could remove some of these things: (1 Gain AP for posting (2 Gain AP for commenting
And then only get AP for merits or submitting a game!
Come with some feedback on this idea! Also the mods etc !
why give up AP for commenting games and forum posts? do u want this site to be the most boring site there can? man there is tons of people who want this site to be built up and everything else. and ur asking for no AP? well u didnt say all AP was gone. but pretty much. and if we got Ap for only merits and well thought out comments which kind of is a merit. then the top leader would have like 200 points lol.
Let's be honest, this site has MINIMAL spamming, and everyone gets so much butthurt when one little spammer comes along. And I'll admit there are substantially more game spammers than forum spammers, and they keep low-profile by staying hidden in the comments, where next to no one looks.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but why? As soon as spamming becomes a significant issue, I'll look into this, mkay?

if those were the only two ways to get AP, most people would have 0 AP. At least the forums are the least-spammed area in AG. The freaking game comments are the problem. The game developers want constructive criticism for their games in order for them to learn better ways to improve and to do better in future works.
You would still be able to post comments, but it really wouldn't do any good, unless you were aiming for grabbing a merit.
People who would actually care about rating a game would give it an honest number, unlike some who would just rate and move on to another. Compared to comments, rating a game is the easiest way of getting points, since THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT between rating games. And if those honest gamers that rated the games really cared, they would say it wouldn't matter whether they would gain points for rating them or not.
So...why do we need to gain points for rating games again? Does the staff seriously deem it a reward for gamers to click on a button?
even if there were no AP... people would still spam (look at the forum games section, somehow people still manage to spam it up, but since you dont get AP, it isnt frowned upon)

Relation between "other forums" and "game comments", please? Compared to many forums, this community has very little spam. Compared to many forums, the games comments are spammed up, yes, but is that not comparing apples and raisins?
there already isn't a ton of spammers, the 30 sec thing helps and mods will kick people that do that. APs are why I play on this website a lot, and i will sometimes post a comment on a game that is only 5 letters, but taking out comments and forum posts is retarded. The whole point of APs is to keep people playing on AG.
I dont agree...competition (gain AG points) make this site more interesting. About the spamers someone should do anything like warning admins or moderators about spamers
I don't think that posting HOW to get armorpoints is a bad thing. I think it makes the site a little more competitive, and if you see one of those one- word posts, then flag it, and an Admin or Mod will deal with it and the user accordingly
AP creates a drive to be on the site and be active. There is no way you could somehow change the point system and expect a large part of the community to be negatively affected. AG is good the way it is, it could have less spam but it still works.
