And Nostradamus said that world would change dramatically in 2013, and would become at peace in 2030. Hundreds of people have said that everything would be destroyed, and yet we are still here. The panic of 2000? We are still sitting by our computers, right?
The Mayans worked with eras. Their calenders revolved around eras. When one calender ended, the era did too, and a new one begun. So, to take the logic of that: We are going to start a new era.
Best chance of anything happening then is a solar flare hitting us.
Most horrible thing that might happen is a gamma ray blast hitting us, dissolving our atmosphere, irradiating our resources, and directly allowing the Sun's beams to hit us, further irradiating us and likely burning us all to our horrible, painful deaths.
The whole thing is all based upon religion and the Mayans. I doubt any of the religion 2012 predictions are going to come true because just look at Y2K they all believed everyone would die but we didn't.
I do believe that everyone will die in 2012 but not everyone so there will be survivors. And I most certainly can say that none of the religious 2012 predicts are going to come true only that I believe we'll or most of us will die some how.
