i dont get it anyway. An end of a calender means the end of the world. The calaender would still be going if the mayans didnt die

It will never Happen. First off all the 2012 theory came from the Aztecs...Would you believe a race of people that believed that Cortes, the Spanish conquistador, was the Quetzalcoatl? (Which was a God in the Aztec belief) They ended up destroying themselves.

This fail thread AGAIN? How many times are people going to make it. Check past threads before making new ones people. And besides, let me give you this, the world was "supposedly" supposed to end in the 1950's, 2000, 6/06/06, and many, many other dates. IT'S JUST PARANOID PEOPLE SAYING THESE THINGS. As for him &quotredicting it" Someone could easily just write it that he had those things predicted, or misinterpret what he wrote. If I was to write, "The sun will die out in a few billion years" I will be right because it will, it is inevidable. Get used to people saying they know the future, they are all liars. Unless they are saying im going to get a doughnut in the morning or something.

No I don't think it would happen. It COULD happen but very very unlikely. And btw there's nothing in front of us to tell the truth and make us believe about it.

Their calendar has no end, 2012 is merely the change from the current era to the next.

Oh my god, guys, how many threads about 2012 will continue? Fail thread is fail.
Accept it: an apocalypse is NOT going to happen, 2012 will be a normal year like any other

I do not think 2012 will happen. In Jan. 2013 there is a new theory going to be popular like this one except the date will be January 13, 2014, esp. if that date is a Friday. "Why?" you ask, because January is the closest you are going to get to as the 13th month in the 2013. And you can probably see where I'm going with this. 13th day of the 13th month of the year 2013. I guess it will kinda be like 2000 and 2012, fizzle out to be nothing.

the mayan calendar has ended a few times already. they just make another one, I agree with sirfrank, the mayans basically just ran out of ink, after all, they disappeared in the early 900's so they would eventually run out of the time or even the energy to keep on adding to the calendar, just think about how long it would have taken them to make a calendar about 1100 years in the future.

and a gamma ray hitting us would be the worst thing that would happen, but we all wouldn't just burst into flames, if the ozone layer were depleted, yes we would have alot less worse ultraviolet radiation, but we wouldn't be burning up, because the ozone layer also keeps heat in. but there is no way for me to tell you for sure if we would be warmer or colder but the change wouldn't be too horribly significant. the UV radiation would be causing the damage, so yes sunburns and skin cancer would be the only significant problems

NASA says no 2012.
The end.

The planets will not align on Dec 21st 2012, and even with such an occurrence it would not disrupt the order of the galaxy.

The rest is based on pure faith in the Mayan religion.

Nope. The Mayans just all died or something so they couldn't start a new year rofl. Or maybe they were just like "God we're so lazy. 2012 seems like a good year to stop writing future calenders"
