dont you just hate it when you get the ring of death? cause i do i just wish some how they would fix it were you cant get it. i know thats why some people dont like the xbox cause of that. but i got red rin gof death 5 days after i got my new xbox..(i think its cause it over heated) so now i have a new one and it hasnt gotin the red ring of death in a year or so!! and if you have a cooling fan on your xbox take it off they recalled all of theam cause they would give you the ring of death! hope that helps thanks
What causes the red ring of death is the system over heating. So if you put the Xbox in a properly ventilated area you shouldn't have any problems. You can also buy an additional cooling fan from Nyko that attaches into the back and helps reduce interior temperature. Also, if your Xbox seems to be heating up,or you can hear the fans working hard, you might want to take a break for awhile just to let it cool down. Red ring of death shouldn't be too big of a problem anymore though, and I only personally know one person who got it out of 10+ friends with Xboxs.

If you take out the cooling fan your system will over heat for sure <.<

I believe the problem was that the fans weren't cooling efficiently enough, so consoles had a higher chance of over heating after sustained usage. When Microsoft repairs Xboxs one thing they most likely do is replace the old fan with the newest fan, but still, inefficient fan is better than non.
Yeah i had one of them fans on my first xbox 360 and it got RROD. My 2nd xbox 360 we bought another fan and then we took it off then we got RROD!! But we got my dads mate to fix it and he said it will only last a few more months... and here we are now with RROD Again!! So im getting a Xbox 360 for xmas

Why aren't you getting a PS3 or Wii, if you've already had red ring of death three times? I was reading a forum on Xbox.com the other day, and one guy said that he had went through 10 Xboxs before finally opting to purchase a PS3. Granted, most of the 10 were refurbished, but still.
They have fixed the RROD on new xbox's but it will sometimes happen if you play your xbox for most of the day if your xbox overheats regularly after it overheats you should leve it for at least 3 hours before switching it back on again
correct me if im wrong but Microsoft has a 2 or 3 year period after you buy your xbox where you can send it in and they will refurbish it for nothing. Read the manual, it has some useful information. (The 3 year period is only for red ring, there is a 3 month for anything else) also: THE TOWEL TRICK IS NOT WORTH IT! it voids your warranty :P.
