I wish it would be a law teachers have to give you time to do your homework in school.
Wait, isn't that what would happen in a 6 day school, which everyone is against, because staying in school more than you already do is something every kid is against? Or was that my own idea of the 6dayschool... Darn, confused.
i certainly don't. i think homework is neccesary for everyone, but in small quantities unlike skater_kid_who_pwns had for biology. it helps you learn and develop, but i think school should be shorter with block schedules in every school(i just have the same, boring classes every day).
i think that homework is ok as long as it is not too much. if it is way too much then your teacher is just too lazy to teach it to you. Also i think this whole, "if you don't turn it in next class you don't get credit" is a load of BS, if its a week late then you don't get credit cause you are lazy, if you just forgot but still turn it ina day late you need to get credit
I for one would want it. At least a half day on Saturday's to actually feel motivated to DO your homework. What do I see when I get home? Dragonage: Origins, 2 liters of Bawlz, skittles, and a picture of Tailor Swift on my ceiling. Not exactly something to motivate you to do your homework is it?
First of all, I am at a university, so I couldn't care less. Second, it would actually give time for the teachers to actually teach and help out. Imagine having one or two hours at school for pure homework (thus no actual homework), and all the help you need. While I am sure there are intelligent students that would groan at this, I still believe the majority could use some extra attention. There would also be time for sport and other activities. Also, I need sleep. I don't even understand my own sentences any more.

Well, if the intelligent are in advanced placement courses such as Human Anatomy and Physiology, Calculus, AP Biology, Physics.... These guys in these classes would love extra time for homework. I'm sure they would also be much better off working on homework in a place to do it, instead of home
Well I really don't like homework so I just cheat off of the teacher. She knows I do it and dosen't care because I get things inmost of my classes so easily it really dosen't matter. I believe homework is just another system created to make sure the kids are ready for adult hood. This will definetly not get kids like me ready though. When we become abults then were not going to be working all the time. We still ne to have fun and sleep or mabye eat. Now most teachers tell you that homework is so that you don't forget what you learned that day. Well ofcourse were not going to forget what we learned it's burned into our skull from being bored for a little while.

Wouldn't they have to pay teachers more? Any many highschool students work on the weekends... Many of my teachers have afterschool or lunch study sessions, which are optional. They give help on homework or whatever. So this is basically what you are talking about, except it is purely volunteer based. I know a lot of people that take advantage of this oppurtunity and get all their work done at school. I think part of the justification of homework is that it requires students to learn to manage their time. If teachers intervene too much, then students don't learn how to solve their own problems. On the otherhand, students like me adapt to this situation by avoiding classes with excessive homework (such as spanish), which kind of defeats the purpose.
I'm gonna disagree. The best way to learn is to do it by yourself, not by somebody showing you how to do the problems or what is going on in the course. The teachers that care use the homework that students turn in as a guide as to what the students need more help on.
Question: Are you able to remember 13 years of everything you've been taught? Keep in mind if you never used homework back in 1st grade, you would tend to be stuck on the problems and never be able to do it yourself. A serious student would say no, of course not, because the only time they did the problems or questions themselves is when they did the tests, which they failed or almost failed horribly.
I have an a and b day. each class is an a hour and a half long. Then, after all that jazz, i go home and do work. instead of lecturing the class, maybe we could be doing something productive...?
