Hmm. One of the worst maps for camping, IMO is either Favela or Wasteland. On Failvela, people stay on the roofs or in the corner of the map, near where the C flag is on Domination.
Since I don't really play much Search, and I don't use a sniper very much, I don't have a habit of camping.
As you all can see (from my K/D ratio), I don't camp. (K/D is about .81 at the moment >.&gt

I think instead of trying to come up with some complicated definition, we should just suck it up and deal with it.
No matter what the game is, if there is a competive online game such as MW2, there will allways be campers.
And as long as their are campers, there are ways to counter them such as grenades. Or, you could just stay away from an area if you know a camper is there. That way, if you don't go there, he won't keep on killing you.

Bottom line is that people just need to accept that people are going to camp sometime, and instead of complaining about it, learn to counter it. Or just for the heck of it, join them sometimes, and start camping yourself. But there is no use in complaining about camping becasue people are allways going to do it.

My views on camping can be summed up thusly:

Complaining about camping in MW2 is like complaining about bad acting in porn films.

Carry on.

True. I agree. People choose if they want to they can sit on top of a building or something and prone. Camping on Shooters is boring. Try camping in real life it's more fun!

It's not that it's someone's choice. That's not what people complain about. People complain that camping is 1) unfair and 2) for noobs.

Now let's look at each of those shall we?

1) To say that camping is unfair is to misunderstand how video games work. Short of actual cheating, eg Javelin glitch, anything goes - it shouldn't matter how you win your match or kill a guy, so long as you get the job done. In fact, the high numbers of people who complain about camping is testament to its quality as a strategy.

2) I would argue the contrary. Depending on the match type and level, camping can win you a match. People running around the map like headless chickens won't do your team or you any good.

Me personally, I tend not to camp, because I don't have the patience. Running and gunning with an M16 and RPG (ask DDX to know how effective this combo can be , is my style. That said, there are certain levels that just lend themselves to camping, like skidrow for example. The alley way next to the C spawn on skidrow is paradise for someone with a good eye with an M16. To deny this is not only juvenile, but also stupid, seeing as your KD will probably suffer if you neglect to camp once in a while.

After all, why would they put thermal scopes on. Its the perfect camping/anti-camping device.

I understand campers can be infuriating, but lets face it, its only annoying cos you keep getting poned by the same guy in the same spot, or cos the whole team are frikkin silent ninja smg/snipers that you never see but get poned by.

Either way... you got outplayed, face it like a man.

Camping is for players who enjoy to wait and attack. As Sniper, they are patient and relaxed when they are camping. So much, their ability to kill + their aiming accuracy is above your typical run + gun = hope you get a kill player who enjoys the action.

Getting more into detail. In a match, the player who is the Sniper is more calm, a relaxed heart rhythm, focus. In the other side of the field, you got a runner, with an assault rifle, adrenaline rushing, rapid movement, looking for his next target. Than all of a sudden, his adrenaline, his speed, has been stopped by force. Of course, his guy is shocked and pumped to seek that revenge. For this player, having a kill is good. But having a kill + revenge is even better. So he goes seeking for that unique kill, only to get killed again.

This is causing the run and gunner to become extremely upset, proceeds to swear into the mic, anything, if he is the admin, he'll be tempted to kill ban the player. But he can't do nothing about it, he is a run and gunner, he doesn't know where the relaxed sniper is at. And soon, the run and gunner does everything he can to get the sniper, he starts making mistakes, predictable movement. Enough that the skilled sniper player is able to kill more.

So you see, being a Sniper is relaxing if you know how to relax and don't mind a little less action. If you hate campers, than you are the run and gunner guy who can't seem to win over them.

i hate when people complain about camping. I am not defending camping but if there is a camper than avoid that camper just walk away. If you cant throw stuns frags and if u have a RPG then use it. Not hard.

he goes like 30 and 15 with the RPG alone. its quite scary actually because you'd think he'd get less kills running firing off his RPG.

personally I've adopted a more "run with shotgun" style.

It's inaccurate bull

The RPG on Battlefield Bad Company 2, has a much better scope and a proper RPG Accuracy! CoD sux compared to BF...

Well said friend, well said...
Not to mention that people who very PROPERLY focus on a significant campspot get more, you often consider predictable, basic spots which get overruled after a while, look at Estate, where's a good place to camp there? The house, sure, but it won't last forever... Try camping at the large building at the bottom, see how long it'll keep you going, or who knows? Camp at a lovely grassy patch with a silenced sniper, it usually depends on game type.

You know the camps at Invasion, sometimes the best are right infront of u, the large road at the side of the map, camp around there, ya know, slip around, adjust to the situation, block it from enemies, it could make you turn the table of the fight...
