[Well, it appears my spamming of the Dreams RPG obviously made people not want to play. Oh well, I'll just keep it on the other site. However, here is another game I recently thought up.]
Background:
In the year 2043, a meteor impacted Antarctica. A team of scientists was sent to recover the meteor for further study. They retrieved it, and the meteor was taken back to the United States for further study. It was believed to be just a normal meteor, and was largely forgotten. However, one day, while it was being transported to another place for holding, something happened. Although exactly what occurred is unclear, what is known is that the truck suddenly veered off the road and into the lobby of a hotel. The man came out, clutching at his throat. He fell over and begin convulsing. And then... he changed. He turned into a mutated monster. He attacked others, changing them as well. This was the beginning of the outbreak.
5 years later, and 3/4 of the world's population is mutated. The only cure for the virus is death. The governments of the world are becoming desperate, so they launch Project Hope. Small groups of scientists from around the world begin working on changing the virus to mutate a person, but to keep them from becoming hostile. They test it out on human subjects, and largely succeed... or so they think. One week after the tests have begun, all of the subjects go mentally insane and are forced to be locked up. They all fall into comas. The test is considered a failure. The base where the test occurred is scheduled for destruction on September 16, 2048 at noon.
It is currently September 16, 2048 9:00 am. And the subjects, who have been largely forgotten, have just woken up...
So yeah, in this game, everyone is a 'good' mutant. Right now, our goal is to escape by any means necessary. Also, if you want to join in with the mindless mutants(the 'bad' ones), you can do so at a later time.
Here's the sign-up form:
Name: Age: MutationBasically, the virus mutates each person in a different way, so you can choose just about anything(just be realistic. No god-like powers.)
We get everyone inside. 5 minutes till base detonation
"Keep pushing!"
Suddenly, a screeching noise is heard. At first, I take it to be the elevator, but then I realize it's coming from outside. "I don't want to know what that is..."
The noise gets closer, and stops in front of the door. "One last heave!"
We all push with all our might, and the elevator moves up. As it does, I hear the noise of something lightly scraping against the bottom and then disappearing. The elevator open on the first floor; finally. We step out into a single room. Up ahead is an abandoned 'reception' desk, and the door to the outside world. I rush towards it and open it. Outside, a lone transport vehicle is parked.
1 minute to base detonation
"Let's go!"
I hop in the drivers seat and start the car up. Everyone else gets in. We roar down the road. We get about 1 mile when the blast goes off. The shockwave catches us and propels us forwards, almost flipping the vehicle. But somehow, we survive. I breathe a sigh of relief, and then look over at the doctor. "So, who are you?"
He looks up at me. "I'm Dr. Drake, Strakanov's assistant. I worked on the main project with him. When you all went into comas, we were sure it had failed. But now you are alive! Listen, we need to find a place to set out a plan. Most of the world is in ruins, but small pockets of humans still exist. One of them is nearby, in the middle of the desert. However, we're going to need to be careful... we'll have to pass through what's left of Las Vegas, and it's heavily infested with mutants."
"So Dr.Drake... could you tell me exactly HOW I got to be able to turn invisible? And why I can eavesdrop and am so good at stealth? Or did Strak keep all of that secret?"
[I'll make an exception and let you in on 1 condition: You've read the other 11 pages. I'm not writing a summary, sorry.]
Dr. Drake
"Well, the virus has unpredictable results. When we get to Las Vegas, you'll see... There are other who can turn invisible, but one thing we've noticed is that no two mutants are ever the same. The virus make each of them... unique. Also, we must be careful. Subject Zero may have survived, in fact the odds are that he did. He will most likely rally all of the mutants together to wage war on the humans. But you, you will save us. The fact that you are mutants makes you stronger than us humans. We can discuss the plans later though."
Wilson
"Ok then."
I continue to drive. In the distance, a lone tower from the ruins of Las Vegas remains... We speed onwards.
"You must understand... you are our only hope. We can not take on the mutants. And although I did not fully agree with Strakanov's methods... we needed a hero. Someone to get us through these times. And that is you. I know that what we did was wrong; to take you against your will and... change you. And you may never forgive me. But I also know that if I could start this all over, I would take the same path."
You know what i think about this situation? huh? I believe that the only good thing is the mutation. I can do unimaginable things but i will never see my family, my friends again if they live and i will be treated by the few humans left as a monstrosity. A wrong of nature. A SCUM. And all of us i bet feel the same. It is like a new life while we haven't even finished the old one. I suppose you will say "no time for feelings" but feelings are the only thing left to remind us from our previous life. The only thing we have. We need to keep it. Anyway, which is that way? Where exactly are we going to stop? Because night is approaching and i suppose that these places won't be so warm and welcoming after this total disaster.
