I think silver is better but I already have a Lugia so I'm getting Gold cuz I want a Ho-Oh.

Lugia=Ho-Oh.

Most people say Silver, I personally don't think it matters. If everyone takes Silver, Gold would be better for Trading purposes.

I find SoulSilver to be the best. I am horribly biased towards Lugia, so obviously, that would be my choice.
There is a bunch of fire pokemon that is exclusive to SS anyway, and since Zophia wants HG, we are pretty good (besides the lack of game and DS and stuff.)

what kind of question is that? theres no difference in the games(so i herd) except you can catch ho-ho and not luigia in gold so you should just be asking which pokemon of those 2 do you prefer but anyways gold version because silver seems like it might be boring and inferior to gold

Uhm, wrong. You can catch both of those in either game. The difference is which pokemon is exclusive to each game (fx, Growlithe for HG, Vulpix for SS).
And the intro is different too.

But you can only get Kyogre in Gold and Groudon in Silver.

gold version because silver seems like it might be boring and inferior to gold

I got a DS I bought from my sister, I just lack the game. Zophia lacks both. But it doesn't stop us from fantasizing.

I personally like, and own soulsilver.
Also, you can get BOTH Lugia and Ho-Oh in BOTH games. Common confusion, but it is true. I am also fond of lugia in the front cover XP.
Even though I do miss kyogre, groudon is pretty kewl XD.
And we also get rayquaza

They were in ruby/sapphire. That's why they were on the cover of the games

Plus, if that didn't persuade you, always remember: rubies are red, sapphires are blue, this isn't really that much of a rhyme, so that'll do
