I prefer Lugia, always have, though Ho-Oh is still cool. The Lugia statue was cooler to me so I bought SoulSilver instead of HeartGold, and am too lazy to buy the other =P.
Same thing here, I thought the Ho-oh would be better, but LUGIA IS AWESOME!!!
i dont know who said that ho ho is exclusive to gold but its not true. i have the original silver version and i was able to obtain lugia and ho ho without cheating. so what about crystal? i want a crystal remake

You know what, that could be awesome. With the crystal remake, it'll be FUN!!!
Well I prefer Gold but this old pokemon connoisseur here doesn't love it for the same reasons as you folks ^^ This thread seems to be more of a debate as to which is best between Ho-oH and Lugia lol... Now why do I prefer gold - or heartgold - is because of the exclusive pokemons. (Pokemons you can get only by trading) In this case we're talking 'bout crap like bellsprout and growlithe but still, an oldschool gamer like me hate your overpowering tactics; I gladly go by Karen's ''discour'' ^^ (By overpowering I mean young'uns who build teams out of legendaries and pseudo-legendaries pokemon only...booooring!) So yeah, I'd say heartgold because I can have a godblessed Victreebel without trading, hurray! Now I say something that looked like this earlier: Groudon>Kyogre Now please explain that to me out of objective arguments.

First, I agree, but Groudon is so suckish with his defense. Kyogre is better.
You're totally right: as I said, this was posted earlier in the thread and it kind of bugged me. Another reason why I prefer HeartGold is that because they made a cleavage in the moves (physical/special), sacred fire has become a physical attack whereas aeroblast is now a special one. The thing is: Ho-oh can use a move fueled by attack way more efficiently than lugia use a move who needs SpAttack, thus, even though they have the same BaP, Ho-oh's sacred fire is now stronger than lugia's aeroblast. Of course I wouldn't expose such an argument if they weren't the only pokemons able to learn those moves... Ho-oh's base attack:130 Lugia's base SpAttack:90
Yeah but if I want a fortress, I won't go with Lugia... Maybe Bronzong or even shuckle... I already leveled a shuckle up to 100 and it was nigh unstoppable^^

You know what, you're right, even if Ho-oh or Lugia protects themselves, they'll still die. If a Shuckle protects himselfs, it's unstoppable
