One thing: Talk about Cast Away. Talk about how far you are or some strategies that have helped you out during the game or what pet you think is the best!

Did you noticed that, depending on the direction you move, your hero can be left-handed as well as right-handed.
Game is very addictive and interesting but somehow progressing seems to go slow. I'm still using my first pet because leveling a new one takes time. There should be a few pet accessories and pets should regenerate. Since you collect shards to use magic, spells should be more powerful, shards concept is innovating but I think that old fashioned mana would suit this game better.
And who would pay 100 gold to heal the hero and his pet? It's better to let that douchebag regenerate and use blueberries on the pet, gold is very hard to come by.

Yah i agree you barely find any gold in the gameplay and it is dumb that your pet's health doesn't regenerate so they die more often. I'm one my thirteenth pet right now!

Yes gold seems to be so hard to earn. That was a flaw.

When my pet dies I just load. There are "tips and tricks" in the game but they are useless, here you just upgrade and go for the stronger opponent, real hardcore RPG.
This game is amazing, if author decides to make a sequel it would be enough just to implement some new features. I would also like to mention that logo effect on the beginning, when it seems like the logo is under water and it interacts with cursor. That looks so good, I just knew it's going to be a good game.
Of course it's rating is stuck at 7.7, don't want to comment that, we already had a discussion about ratings. This game deserves more.

Really i get frustrated because it doesn't autosave. Every time you want to save you HAVE to go to the village to save otherwise you lose everything. I've gotten so far in the grasslands over 4 times and every time i died so i always lost my progress and had to redo it all over again and again and again. It's really annoying

Go to the hatchery put your egg in then change the clock on your computer ahead and it is ready immediately.

I find it really annoying that your pets can't be revived. I really like the game but i'd personally like more control over character development and maybe even the pets to an extent.
I also wish you could buy pet food, and be able to get more than 20 HP ones...
Another annoying thing i found is in the jungle section, it is really hard to see the monsters and i end up getting mobbed and my pet dies >.>

I just beat this game.. and honestly think I am the first person to do so after how painfull it was. I'll take some time to write some tips to what I did to help some of you along since I noticed there are no real tips or walkthroughs.. I guarantee you though, if you play this game, you will be frustrated, and you will die when you least suspect it...

Okay, so first, I need to warn of some flaws and glitches that may cause you some troubles.. Some of these may contain spoilers to later levels, which aren't that big actually. Just enemy types and such.

FLAWS!
--> When you level up, -ALL OF YOUR STATS WILL RESET AS IF YOU ARE NAKED-.

I cannot stress this enough. It took me a while to realize this, because in the higher level areas I would look forward to leveling up, since it would be like a free heal (more on that later). I seemed to noticed I would take huge amounts of damage sometimes though, and then I finally found this out. The only way to fix it is to change maps. Switching your gear off and on will not help.

--> It is very, VERY hard to get money in the start of the game.

Because of this, you will almost never be able to afford things that aren't absolutely needed, such as armor and weapons. And yes, the 5% damage and magic increase items are next to useless. Good thing is you can sell your old gear to help afford the new. Thankfully they help a lot. You will go about 95% of this game without using potions, since it's a giant cash sink. You will almost always be saving up money, and the cheapest way to heal is always the Inn, especially toward the end.

Your best bet to get early cash is just to get eggs. All eggs in the game, yes all, sell for 25g. At the start, this is pretty awesome. In the end, very annoying. Thankfully, for some unknown reason once you get to the second to last level, getting money becomes a joke, since the ice shard sells for so much.

--> You have very little item space to work with.

This doesn't seem like a problem at first, but you will be stuck with those 14 item slots the whole game, wearing gear, carrying shards, carrying quest items... You have to manage it well. The only tip I can give is once you are able to slowly start completing a gather quest, you may want to do it as soon as possible. being able to sell that item is much better then being forced to hold it, since selling it while on the quest is a complete waste. Other then that, you just need to make sure to only rely on one type of pet food, as well as probably not buying potions since you can't afford them anyway. Just try to only go as far as you can survive on one health bar on each run. I found myself AFKing a lot to heal in the start when I was too poor to keep using the inn, but that eventually changes.

[TIPS!]

--> Replace your pets.

Now, I didn't get a chance to try every pet, but I did find their lack of listed stats annoying. Generally, the later you find an enemy, the better pet it will be, sometimes. The poison snakes leave a weak poison ability, which makes them nice I guess, but once I noticed the ice scorpion has a chance to instantly kill an enemy, I basically couldn't replace him. I tried a skeleton, and I'm hatching a skeleton warrior who would need some leveling, but really, the instant kill is nice for when you can get him, if you play that long.

--> Know when to quit.

Don't push your lifebar too much. It's much better to give up pushing further one screen away from the generator of a level then to try to get to it, and die on the way back. Saving frequently is the key, keeping your experience gain consistent. Too many times did I think I could survive my way back only to get cornered when I least suspected it, usually resulting in me or my pet dieing.

--> When in doubt, use bugs to your advantage.

Okay, so most people don't like using bugs to get further, but there are two that will not only save you time, but make you able to take less damage.

First of all, the hatching is based off your computers clock. So you can save after you start hatching, and come back later in the day and it should be done. Or, you can just cheat all together and change your clocks time for a moment to get your egg hatched instantly. Kinda cheap, but waiting 2 hours can be annoying.

The biggest tip I can give is actually a rather large bug. When fighting enemies 1 on 1, you usually just trade shots until someone is dead, which results in a lot of damage. Most of the time you will be scared to fight more then one enemy, to not get wailed on too much, however, when you start fighting a new enemy, you instantly attack. Because of this, fighting enemies 2 at a time can actually prove quicker, and less damaging then fighting them 1 on 1. Once you have two enemies next to you, start clicking like a madman. If you click once to select, then again to attack on each enemy, alternating back and forth, you will attack as fast as you can click, killing people rather fast if they both stay alive long enough. This should help you much more later on in the game.

--> If something is too strong, be a wimp when killing it!

You never want your pets dieing, it's usually better just to reset and keep a frequent save routine because of this. If you are using a new pet, or your pet just seems to get killed by an aggressive type of monster for some reason, just use some cheap tactics. Firstly, you can freeze your pet in a safe area behind you when you go to fight the pesky monster. For me, it was those female slimes where I started doing this. I also approached them with a barrage of ranged attacks firsts. Save all of this for monsters you would otherwise get destroyed by. Starting with a fire attack to do damage, and a lightning attack to stun works great. If you alternate killing people with this, as well as shield smash stuns, you can usually kill strong things pretty reliably, while leveling up your pet safely too. Sometimes, having them hide while low on HP is a better way to heal them then with food anyway.

That about does it for general tips and such I can think about, I'll list some of the items an abilities in the next post, so you know what to expect, and what to wait for..

-Attacks-

Slash-- Seems light an instant, slightly stronger attack. Best used right after a normal melee attack, or after clicking a series of attacks

Shield Slam-- Hits the enemy with your shield, stunning them as well. The last shield makes this a bit stronger, but most of the skills seem to generally do the same damage. You are using this for the stun, that is it.

Back Stab-- Can be used normally to do what seems like normal damage instantly, but if you can someone hit someone from behind with this, it does loads of damage. Stunned enemies, or ones fighting your pet are prime targets. It will also stun for a short time if hit from behind.

Slice-- Seems the same as slash to me to be honest.. I couldn't see a difference. Still nice to have another attack cooldown.

Combo-- About 5 or 6 hits that are slightly weaker then auto attacks, but faster. If your first hit misses, all of them will. Really annoying, but doesn't make it any less useful.

-Spells-

Flame-- Does damage at range, pretty basic. You will be getting a lot of fire shards.
Lightning-- Does more damage then Flame, and stuns for a short time. Works great for both uses, damage and stunning.
Sneak-- Makes nothing attack you. Does not work for your pet, so if you are going to use it, make sure it isn't on follow, or it will probably die. This actually isn't too useful in most situations, only when you want to run past things (usually when weak) and not get destroyed.. it's usually hard to find a good safe spot to leave your pet, which is the main problem.
Freeze-- Freezes the enemy in place for a while. Useful if you need a stun, but not useful enough to warrant wasting ice shard, since they sell for 2500, and you need 25 for the ice sword (still haven't gotten it to test it, sorry.)

-Items of interest!-

I'm not going to list all the items, that would take too long. Most of the items are just useless quest turn ins that become something to sell to the store later on, Just learn which is worth more, and which to ditch if you need space. But some are more usefull the others. Almost nothing sells for more then a few gold. The only notable thing to mention is once again, ice shards. They sell for a whopping 2500, which, even if your going for that ice sword which requires 25, is still pretty nice to help get you geared, since they aren't too rare.

There are 3 pet foods.

Wild Berries - Heals 20 - Sells for 10 - First found at the first level.

Island Fruit - Heals 60 - Sells for 50 - First found in the third or fourth level (can't remember which)

Raw meat - Heals 150 - Sells for 200 - First found in the fifth level.

The armor and weapons in the game aren't worth listing. You will get quests for a fire sword which is neat until you can buy a new weapon, and an ice sword which I once again, didn't get a chance to get.

I hope this helps some of you... having looked back at the game, i'm noticing my ice shards are no longer selling for 2500 gold, but instead 3 like all the other elements. This may mean when I beat it, it was bugged, but who knows. Without those ice shards, the next person to beat it will have a much harder time then I did... I'll leave what I wrote like this in case it changes back for some people...

All in all, I like the game. Don't get me wrong, I hate it for it's flaws, but I like it because it shows promise for the future. I feel if another was made that paid attention to the first games flaws, we could be getting some nice RPGs to waste our time with. I'd really like to speak with the creator of this game to give some more feedback of what I felt on each little detail, so hit me up if you really are thinking of making another

I'll check back here from time to time to answer any questions you have about this game, so ask away. I'm just happy I beat this game finally, even if the ending was non existant :/

I feel like there is a "castaway" conspiracy going on.

I start the game and they introduce the game. I start with a green pet who follows me around a tiny island.

I explore every nook and cranny of the island and nothing happens? I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what?

I'd appreciate some help.

Have a few questions/suggestions.

1. When purchasing new weapons/armor from town I am unable to equip them in town or view player stats while in town. Maybe I haven't figured out how but it is annoying to have to be outside of town in order to equip new weapons/armor/items and then travel back to town in order to sell old equipment.

2. Auto-Save or Save Points outside of town is a must.

3. Stats for Pets, it's nice to know what you're working with.

That's it so far, if I think of any others or come across more I'll add.

Difficult to level pets once one dies. Everything argos you once you enter area on level 3. Even if your pets sets still.
