ok. so my parents promised to buy me this video game that i really wanted as a reward for getting into this honorable mention thingy as an ambassador of excellence. first of all, they promised it would be last Saturday, which they did not do. later they "romise" that they would buy it by yesterday, which of course, did not happen. now they say they are not going to buy it at all because i have apparently "not listened to them" in some way. what do i do?
Your parents tricked you. All it shows is that your parents are still smarter than you. That's the real problem here. In order to survive in the real world, you're going to need to learn how to detect lies.
Next time, plan for this eventuality. Because there definitly will be a next time. Your parents may love you, and they may be family, but they are still human. They will lie again, because lying is always easier. Don't make a big deal out of it, just learn how to accept it.
Parents can promise and not do something for many reasons. They have the right to. They own the hiouse you live in. They feed and provide you with everything.
My parents do the same thing most of the time, All I do is promise them I'll do something and don't do it. It makes them mad, but it proves a point, don't brake your promises or I am going to brake mine.
