I see lots of people on AG say it's bad but it's not. Those who have said this probably suck online , A Halo fan or really have'nt played it.
You see I want to know how many people think it's bad. I personally don't think it's bad . All the people who do obviously have'nt played online , special ops or the campaign.
You got to actually try every bit of the game before saying it's bad.
yes , I think that is why people are saying they hate it... because 1 person says they hate it ... Everyone follows except a group of people against it.
Everyone has their own opinion, Holden, I think there are so many cock-ups in this game we couldn't come close to comparing it with every atom in the Universe. I also believe I've explicitly described my reasoning, but just to keep on-topic I'll repost it.
Now I've played Halo I've played Unreal Tournament, Serious Sam, STALKER, FEAR - I've played all the big ones and I've played all of the CODs (only a bit of 5) and most of the expansion packs, and not only is Modern Warfare 2, personally, what's killed the franchise and also the worst game currently installed on my computer (not quite my entire room though. ). It's always a pleasure getting a nice killstreak (which I get often enough, don't doubt my skill just because I dislike the mechanics), campaign is pretty nice (too short and too much time spent in slow-mo action scenes on the ground) and I thoroughly enjoyed Spec. Ops. I just find there are so many problems the pros are kind of overwhelmed. I'll state my main reasons, but there are always a few smaller reasons:
No dedicated servers - this won't hurt consolers (most of them don't really use dedicated servers) but for Infinity Ward to replace dedicated servers, a system that has worked for over a decade with a substitute that will crash and send you back to the main menu saying that server you joined was full it's just ridiculous. There is absolutely no point whatsoever in replacing a system that has proved that it cannot be superseded by any other technology. With the lack of dedicated servers we also see things like lag (dedicated servers you can choose the server based on it's location, so there's minimal lag), host migrations (admins are hosting these servers as long as the server is on, these are never down as long as the admin keeps paying the bills), very little rules and control (whilst admins with their own rules are around, people will be kicked or banned from a server), no customisation (you get what you're given by the random Steam server, rather than a nice admin adfing what you want), and no modding community (which means no cool maps, new weapons, concepts, anything, included in the multiplayer experience).
Weapon unbalance - tell me why a machine pistol kills faster than an assault rifle, or a knife kills quicker than a sniper? Can't? Why allow it in COD then? Another point I should make, note how practically every weapon you'll ever need or want is unlocked within the first ten levels - this game is n00b friendly and will give anyone anything they need to win, regardless of your skill there's a likelihood of being beaten and nuked by someone who's only ever played Hello Kitty: Island Adventures. That's stupid, since day one shooters have required skill, yet MW2 abolishes skill and just says, since you touched multiplayer you can win.
Commando - I'm not going to bother going into deep detail with this, and there is no reason to have objections whatsoever: teleporting . . . What the fuck?
Moneygrabbing - I spent more money than anything else on the shelves for MW2 to get something so ridiculously aggravating it hurts, and us PC gamers get absolutely no support from Infinity Ward for the simple reason: we play on PC. Then they have the bloody cheek to say, "we want money that you could buy four or five games with for 3 new maps and 2 maps you've already played with fairer weapons, less hackers, lag, and a nicer community." and people fall for it. It's ridiculous.
So there are several reasons that I though up in about 5 seconds, there are numerous other. By the way, I've played MW2 for 14 days total time, so . . .
Unfortunately, the issues in Modern Warfare 2 are small in comparison to other games. They are only made bigger because the game is so popular.
Whoops, I forgot, teleporting, no modding community, rules, a reliable anti-hacking system, being shipped with Steam, lag, no map rotations, overpriced expansion packs, weapon unbalance, no requirement for skill, noobtubing, IWNet, bad/boring map design are very small.
And no, most other games on the market don't include teleporting, have modding communities, have explicit rules that are normally followed, have reliable anti-cheat technologies, don't require 3rd party software, keep ping times low, include customisable map rotations, rules and mods, sell expansion packs at reasonable prices (or at least, produce better quality ones), have fair weapons and unlock order, require practice, don't have ridiculously powered, easy to obtain, extras, if they do have a replacement to dedicated servers it's half decent, but most the time they use the unbeatable system, and can create (or let the community create) very inventive maps.

They are obviously doing something right, being as popular as it is.
WRONG on the contrary one the ps3 all the pros from cod4 were beast on mw2, infact me and my pro buddy had some of the highest KD's in the whole game. (3.6 and a 3.2)
i went all the way to the 8'th prestige then i got tired of the crap that the game was bringing and i traded it in for a game with minimal lag and 0 noticable glitches (mag)
every game ahs glitches but only lazy programmers would let this many glitches come to be and have to patch them
i mean i like the maps and the guns (not the FAMAS or m16 cause there for bitches) but the game itself is a complete peice of garbage

First of all, its nowhere as near popular as it was when it first launched. Second of all, more than half of the online community is just 10-12 year olds that never shut up, making me mute all players before they even do a single thing. N00bt00bs happen all the time, [out of nowhere]. No extra online mode thats a blast to play, like Nazi Zombies was, don't you reply to that with something such as "But we have Special Ops" Special Ops was not that great, short, and honestly was not that fun, boring even. There are 10th Prestige hackers EVERYWHERE, that make fake stats so they can get to the top of the leaderboards, with fake stats like 9999999999999999999999 kills, and like 5 deaths, which now makes getting on the leaderboards nearly impossible, well at least to where people will see your name. Which makes me so made because I love leaderboards, in fact some games I play JUST so I can get on the leaderboards. The campaign was a blast to play but just took me two sittings to beat. I'm sorry but Bad Company 2 is the game for me, sorry Modern Warfare 2. By the way, I was a fanboy of the first game.
You probably like it because you're a n00b with an M16, FAMAS, or any gun that doesn't take skill to use. AKA every assault rifle ,except the F2000, and the UMP. I snipe literally 99% of the time so that gives those people an unfair advantage against people like me, someone who uses the Intervention and quick-scopes and gets hit-markers a lot even though I shoot someone in the chest.
im not talking about hackers stupid, theres nothing programmers can really do to prevent that, im talking asbout glitches in the programming that make the game awfull
