These are eh... relative to time period, obviously a SNES game isn't impressive next to a modern PC/PS3/Xbox360/Wii game.
Super Mario World (SNES): First video game Pokemon: Red/Yellow: Start of a dynasty Rise of Nations: Awesome RTS game, culmination of age of empires-like gameplay with more advanced economy and borders system Battlefield 2: Could be said to have started the modern combat craze/trend in FPS games.
Past that I can't think of any really amazing games I played. I mean, some games are good, but not quite revolutionary (for me at least). I really wish I played half-life when it came out though (as now the graphics look shitty in comparison and all), but one day I'll buy Half-Life and Half-Life 2 (and consequent episodes) and play them all in like the span of a week (think tv series marathon, but with games). I'm sure it'll be epic.
