Hi guys, another topic about my life.
So, as you might not know, something weird has happened during my life. I suddenly have the "urge" to do things. I don't know why, because most of them are really bad things, but I just get the urge to do certain things. For example, when I'm in a car, I ALWAYS get the urge to open the door (while the car is on and moving). I really don't want to, but I get the urge to do it; and sadly, I've opened the door once. Another example is turning of the system when I'm playing a game and I've accomplished something great in it, and I haven't saved. Again, I don't know why, but I get an urge to do it.

This is weird, and I want this to stop. I don't know if it will get worse or better, but I hope the latter one. If anybody can help, that would be really appreciated... And going to the doctor is not a prioritized option.

Thank you.

I also have this urge, that's because i'm curious what will happen, the thing is that you have to cotrol that urge.

The second thing about a game, is maybe because you want to get the feeling again that you did something great?

and why is a doctor not a prioritized option?

It seems like you have some urges where also a bit of adrenaline is involved. Opening the door while driving. and you get adrenaline from doing something great in a game.

What can you do? It's easy to say, just don't do it. But you can maybe let someone help you? That when you are in the car someone keeps you busy so that you don't get the urge to open the door. Or when you are playing a game let someone watch you doing it once and when you want to turn of the game that he/she can stop you.

Or maybe you can say, if i ignore this urge, i give myself a present.

The last option can be go to a shrink, they aren't bad or something, they just want to help you and can help you with this problem. Maybe there's some reason beneath it why you do it?

Sorry i'm not a doctor, so i can't really help, but i still hope this helped you a bit.

Opening the door when you're in a car and turning off the system while playing a game are both linked to that urge. Now this is just me, but I believe you have an internal, neurological urge to stop what you're doing and go do something new. You open the door to get out of the car, you turn the game off to stop playing it. What about other "urges"? Are they part of the same thing I'm getting at here?

Seems normal. All people get crazy feeling that they should do something, and as long as they don't act on it, there is no problem. It seems that your problem is that you like to follow the urge.
Also, I doubt it would help going to a doctor, since it is a psychological problem, as long as some sort of primal behaviour. "I wonder what will happen if I...", "How would it feel to...". Curiosity, if only subconscious, can be a forceful urge, which is where you would need to act on your superior reason that you have developed as a human being.

Omg! The professor was right! Psychologists with different opinions disagree with each other. I totally disagree with Cen but I don't know why!

It would help going to a behavioral psychologist, if you're interested. They are specialized in the certain behaviors and habits that people do. They may cover the certain reflexes or mannerisms that you do, given an X situation. Some of the things they study is if these reflexes are trained and learned from constant experience.

Sorry if I ramble on about this stuff lol. Anything concerning the brain and its function interests me more than violence O_o

It does seem like OCD.

I have the urge to hit things. Like a table or something that's not alive. How I control that urge? There's a counterpart that makes me not hit something. The noise. Really unexpected loud noises really bother me so I don't hit anything. Now once in a while I shall hit something just to get it out of my system or something like that.
Just thing of a thing that will not make you open the car door like the wind or something else. Now for the turning off the system I have no clue why you want to do that. It could be what some of the other people said.

You might be able to suffice the urge, by feeding it in a controlled way, do some sports or go sky diving or something extreme to get your adrenaline going?

I find that when I cant sport (I swim twice to thrice a week) i constantly strain my muscles or like put pressure on my fingers or some small behaviour changes with which i think my body tries to relieve some energy I guess...

So try regularly doing some sport or the like, and see if it helps or else just do one certain urge that can be controlled (and isnt anything bad! :P).

I think that's just part of being human, I feel random urges sometimes, and I've turned off the PS3 without saving for no reason.

Yeah, sometimes I want to do random stuff just because I'm bored.

I do crazy stuff when I'm bored too... I took apart one of my flash drives and made it into a shank. Another thing I'm notorious for is when people piss me off I tell them to eat a live hamster.

Well, I get insanely violent urges to do things. It's also linked to my anger issues. When I'm pissed, I act out these urges. Normally I'm able to hold them back, but even when I'm happy I get the primal part of me saying "What would happen if I rammed my pencil in his eye . . . ."

It used to bother me, doesn't anymore. I can't get away from it, so I suppress it.

Most of my urges are violent, though I do have some weird ones. I get the urge to turn off lights a lot. I also get the urge to 'borrow' things from people. I don't, usually, act on these little ones, because they are small and not very hard to suppress. Not like the violent ones . . . .
