Not necessarily However I was meaning that modern movies tend to rely on eye candy, of all forms, rather than a solid plot, immersive dialogue, and great actors.
Batman is clearly the best superhero. Anyone who is that badass without superpowers gets my vote. Also call me a sucker, but I love the whole anti hero thing. Superman is great, but he's just too much of a goody two shoes for my liking.

What about Iron Man? Or the Green Lantern? These guys didn't get their abilities from super powers, yet I would contend that either one is actually more badass than Batman.
They both had equipment which enabled them to have superpowers. Batman just had a utility belt and his wits.

Iron Man is just a playboy with a shiny suit. Green Lantern is also pretty badass, but although it's cliche I love the slant Bruce Wayne's past gives the character of Batman. Prettymuch all heros do what they do because they want to uphold the ideal of justice. Batman's quest for revenge sets him apart.
Oh, I'd also like to group Rorschach with Batman in terms of badassness, although I'm not sure if he would count as a superhero per se.
Interesting. I personally always found it cool that Green Lantern was actually not unique, but a member of a universe-wide police force. Made him, I dunno, less elitist I guess.
As for Iron Man, I put him in the same class as Batman. Lonely super rich guy, wants to fight evil, uses his money and solitude to create an alterego with some very B/A equipment. Batman was just set in a time when such equipment as Iron Man had wouldn't have been really feasible, but the parallels remain numerous between these characters.
