I don't know. On one hand I'm 15 so if i lived there it would be illegal to trick-or-treat, and it's kind of embarasing to walk around wearing around costumes as a 15 year old, but on the other hand, FREE CANDY
I'm not quite sure of the history of Hallowean, but I do know that when the article says that Hallowean cuts down on tean vandalism, I don't agree because I see more vandalism Hallowean night than any other time
I think it's a personal choice. Like I stopped trick or treating at eight. Due to constant movements and family problems. And I just now got a new costume for the first time in ten years. And that's for a rave. But in my personal opinion, I think if you are old enough to get into a PG-13 movie by yourself, then your old enough to stop trick or treating. It's rude. The candy isn't for you, it's for the kids. That's why it's downright irritating for me to see people in my high school, who are in my grade (Juniors) say "I'm going trick or treating!" and all I can think is "Dude, you have a beard they will know your not ten."
NEVAAAA! You may be old, but the Halloween spirit NEVA dies! Now I understand the fright that people can get when you hear cracky-voiced teens that sound lower than tubas, but what about those with developed voices that sound just like adults *wink wink nudge nudge*? Hmm? Besides. Those Scream and Vampire costumes are weak. Genuine ninja costumes are where it's at.
Oh and if you get chased out by the married middle age mothers from a random street, try the neighbors. They like you

I know, right! It annoys me when I'm at school and people are asking me if I'm going trick-or-treating. I think I stopped when I was 12 or something...
I just go with all my friends, because everyone (at least were i live) likes to wander around and get free candy while socializing, regardless the age. I don't even eat candy, but I enjoy hanging with friends(many who are girls in skimpy costumes XD) and it gives me something to do. Its not something laws should be enforced about, because it seems to go everboard with government infringement. Besides, most people naturally outgrow it at 18 when they get jobs and responsibilities, so they might as well enjoy it. Everyone likes to be a kid again, it takes off a bit of stress and brings back the simplicity of being younger. And most of the people who scoff at this secretly want to keep trick-or-treating but do not want to seem immature in the eyes of others who have no sense of fun.

^This.
Most of the times I go as a ninja, other times in a ghost costume. Sometimes in my own cloths. I don't see why it would be illegal for people over the age of 12 to go trick-or-treating.

So I wanna change my opinion to....ethically, it should be 18 where the cut off is. Because I found something better than trick-or-treating: Halloween parties
Do you realize how much GOOD candy you get there?? My college is hosting one Sunday. Candy, cake, games, and GIRLS. I know two are going to dress up as....cats. Another is going to be a bird.
Eh.... my family really doesn't celebrate Halloween. Only my younger sisters go. And they are 5 and 4. Even if my parents buy candies for Halloween. I start to mooch some candies for me.
oh come on gov a $100 fine you loser your that desperite for money you'd take it from teens who just want candy? That goes against the right of freedom of assembly because they assemble and go out and they are doing it peacefully and is leagal it is in the constitution really is this what the world has come to take rights away for silly things like trick or treat and why does the gov. care anyways come on really?
