I would like for everyone to acctually put some thought into their answers, not just say that this is a disgusting thread and should get locked.

The only reason I bring up a subject like this, is that so many humans die every day, and the most common way to dipose of them is to put them in a coffon/urn and bury them in the ground. That is not ecological in the least.

If you get cremated your body is releasing harmful gasses into the air, and if you get buried then your coffin has just taken up a plot of earth that will take a long time to grow any plants on it.

I think that there are a few ways to make disposing of human corpses more ecologically friendly, but I want to see what you people think of first.

Methinks you haven't read the OP yet, lol

Ribcages...That's a cool idea actually. And if I grabbed some phalanges and stuck some chewed bubble gum to the ends of each stubble, I could get a "hand" in many obstacles!

Wow I must be too far ahead if you guys consider me a med student DX

phalanges are the joints in your fingers. Each little articulate in your finger is part of the phalanges. The wrist is the carpals, and the middle of your hand is the metacarpals.

So yeah. That, coupled with chewed bubblegum on the ends makes for a very "handy" tool to grab things with.

I dunno, CorruptedMind, but I believe your username is perfect for this thread and this discussion.

Now what would the magma do to the bodies besides the obvious? Every idea is plausible, mind you, that's why I'm curious.

Ecological ways to dispose of corpses? The idea of making compost out of it sounded good. But if they were healthy, what about cooking? Feeding to the hungry? Apparently human meat tastes like chicken, I heard once.

Well due to the extreme heat, I don't there would be an adverse effects, everything would be obliterated.

really the most ecological way is to use the bodies as compost, feeding the plants that in turn feed us. Also, we could just dump them in the wilderness and let the scavengers feed on them. Any sort of closed burial or cremation is actually not economically beneficial at all because the nutrients contained in the body is not used for anything, it's just wasted.

I think everyone here has forgotten: organ donation, skin grafts, bone marrow, bones etc given to hospitals and other for medical purposes.

not really Efan, however the title is "Ecological" so donating your body to science (which I have done) is not necessarily beneficial to the environment, however it is beneficial to the human race (which is really horrible for the environment)
