Alrighty, this has been brewing in the artistic minds of a few AGers lately - an animation contest! Similar to the Art Skills Competition we need a few rules in place (largely copy/pasted, so credits to Carlie for parts of this): 1. Must be hand drawn, either on paper or in a program (Pivot is allowed). It can then be manipulated in an graphics program (GIMP is a nice free one with a build in animation filter - google it). Copyrighted images cannot be used. All pieces containing copyrighted images will be disqualified. 2. Submissions must follow the current theme. If you submit more than one piece, please clarify which one you would like to be judged. 3. If your animation is larger than 630 pixels wide, please provide a link to the animation instead of posting it in the forum. Otherwise, the animation will be cut off. 4. Artists cannot win in subsequent weeks. You can still submit, but if you won the week before, you cannot get first place again the next week. Unless only one person submits......let's hope that doesn't happen!
First Theme will be: Balloon Darts
Just show someone/thing popping a balloon with a dart in any possible way.
I'll judge (unless someone else would like to), and no offense but I don't want a noob judging.
So uh yeah, first time using Pivot...pretty cool thing to use actually haha...just takes long! Here's my entry (i think iMogwai is going to win, his is so smooth lol) Hope this works!
Oh i apologize, i did not clearify which one i wanted to enter either... i want to enter the 2nd one to be judged...i made it to keep the thread going since the deadline is so far way...
(direct link for above animation) 1 2 2 is just the larger "Raw Image"...
Haha i've been working on the same pivot for the past 4 hours no lies, trying different things out, spent like 2 hours trying to figure out zooming...still cant figure it out honestly...i'm only at frame 20 if that gives you an idea of how many times i've redone this new animation. I'm thinking about making a thread much like Jdogg's..."KingLemon's Animations" haha, i'll probably adjust the name...but this next one, in my opinion, will be possibly better the concept is at least ...still not as good as some i've seen on youtube.
May I attempt to judge? I don't really want this to die since people actually entered.
After taking a look at all the entries I have come up with the winners. First i will tell you what I based my judging on; creativity of the animation and smoothness of the animation as well as neatness(things aren't jumping all over the place) Here are the results(long anticipated drum roll):
First Place - iMogwai
Great entry with a tad bit of humor added in! I expected as much!
Second Place - Zoark
I had a hard time choosing between you and iMogwai, yours was very creative and smooth, but the main thing i was concerned with was it fitting the theme a floating ball is not a balloon dart, I'll let it slide though.
Third Place - CommanderDude7
Nice fit to the theme, would like to have seen it possibly a little higher fps to make it smoother and the dart should possibly have been smaller, a good entry nonetheless!
Not Placed
Halogunner
What a hilarious twist to the average balloon-dart pop! A little bit smoother and cleaned up and it would have been a great one!
Puppyguy1
You definitely would have been up there if you had posted it before the given deadline, I was contemplating whether or not to place you but decided for fairness your entry not be counted. Good Entry!
KingLemon
Thought I had a shot at winning, but seeing how no one wanted to judge I took it upon myself to judge and to not be biased did not place myself. Oh well! Funny stuff!
New Theme: Camp -Any kind of camp activities would be what I'm looking.
Deadline: December 12 (unless it becomes apparent that no more entries will be submitted)
