So...we have about a week before the start of December, and I figured that it would be pretty awesome to start a "Poet of the Month" thread for each month. It should gain recognition for some of our fantastic poets here. We'll see if this takes off or not; if the former, good, if the latter, I won't be heartbroken anyway.

Now before I explain how this is going to work, I just want to say that I do not want this to be a popularity contest. It's a way to get our best poets here due praise and criticism. Any canvassing or solicitation of votes is going to get you thrown out.

Rules
1. In a reply to this thread or in a comment on my messenger, put the name of the poet you'd like to submit as well as why you think they deserve to get a month of recognition. You can put a link to a poem that you like, or an explanation of what you like about their poetry, or even just say how their poems inspire you.
2. The poet must be someone with an AG account who has written at some time or another on the AMW board.
3. NO SELF NOMINATIONS.
4. You may only submit one poet per month.
5. The deadline for December's Poet of the Month is the last day of November (the 30th).
6. The poet with the most amount of votes wins the month. After that, they cannot be poet of the month again for a year. Poets that are not selected for the month still keep their tallies, however.

Any vote that does not follow the guidelines (one word posts, lack of rationale) will not be counted.

The poet that gets the most votes will get a whole new thread entitled "December's Poet of the Month: (winner)," with a nice analysis of their work written by me, as well as links to their best poems and author threads. They'll also be featured in a post on
#ArmorGamesUsers at DeviantArt! And of course, if if is the winner's desire, victory speeches, odes, songs, and poems are always welcome.

Who will be the month's Poet Laureate? That is up to you, fellow Armor Poets. Vote now!

Well dang. This is a toughie. Between You, Wolf, Fallen, and that new chick IcyIndia this is really hard.
BUT For this month, I will have to vote Wolf1991.
His poetry is very eye opening, and not including the fact that he is the ******* son of Poe And Seuss, his poetry skills are simply amazing.

I'm gonna vote for Wolf1991. His poetry is really cool, and he also said my poem was fantastic. But besides that, he's got skill.

I really liked the first stanza on the first poem on the link above. It's very lyrical. I like all of his works on that thread as well.

That's a fantastic idea Parsat.
I'll have to ponder whether to vote for you or wolf. In my opinion you're the most skilled poet on Ag at the moment, but on the other hand wolf is quite active and is getting more and more sfillful as time goes by...

I already covered that. Plus, if you vote for someone and they don't win it for this month, the vote still carries on. You can even vote for them again the next month if you so desire.

Jezz, when she was still pretty active a couple months ago, was a really great poet! She even made the 50 theme challenge. Voting for her!

I personally vote for Nichodemus because he has always been my favourite poet since I joined AG and probably always will be. I feel sorry for you guys who weren't around when he was active, he wrote the most amazing poems and I wish this was a 'Writer of the Month' thread because his stories are incredible too!

These would be my favourites of his, but before you read them I have to warn you that they some are very, very dark. Especially the second one.. ;
A Werewolf and the Moon
Like Suicide
One Way Ticket (I'm Hallucinating)
(I know this is a thread for poem voting but I suggest you read this if you want to know just how good he really is..)

And this is a list I devised in his thread of every one of his works.

Well, I vote for Parsat for the first month, as I see him as one of the best poets AG has had. I point specifically to a few of his poetry contest winners as flawless poems . . . I believe the one I judged for the "strings" one about the viola was one of the best poems I've ever read. So yes. This month? Parsat.

What an awesome idea! Um...poet of the month...oh christ so many things to read, so many people to choose from. Well my vote goes to Icylinda this month for two reasons. One she is a new face and has proven to be an exceptionally talented writer from what I have seen thus far. And two, for her entry into the poetry contest which I found to be a superb piece of writing that I find inspiring.

I personally have to cast a vote for FallenSky. English is not his first language, but he wields it with a flexibility and a unrepressed nature that is truly remarkable to read. He combines the serious and the absurd, the formal and the informal to make very genuine poetry.

Well for this month my vote goes to Wolf1991. When I first arrived at AG he demonstrated in the poetry contest how succinct and provocative the written word can be. His tales of emotions always invoke unrivaled feelings within me. Plus I think he has started to establish a fan base.

Once again, Wolf1991. He writes from the heart; or gives a brilliant illusion of.

Maybe I'm so good I give the illusion of an illusion. Ah there's something to think on!

That would mean that you actually do write from the heart.
