I think PC games get enough attention including MMOs. Excluding MMOs I think they don't get enough attention. The PC market has basically been recalled by countless people as the n00bs choice of entertainment. I say that may be so, Although the PC games tend to have higher ratings by critics because there are far less PC games than console games. I'm not saying that console games are far worse than PC games, but those games do tend to be better overall too. This subject is almost political/economical as some might say.
I don't generally play PC games because of all the idiots there. But for those games like WoW then they get plenty of attention. But like you said if there weren't games like that then they won't get much attention.

Okay you got 2 main-options without PC: Xbox - Ton of idiots nerdraging whenever they die, who go out of their way to annoy you. PS3 - Moaning sissies who always rip on Xbox for (generally) being more popular and how their quality is better.
PC - Depending on the larger variety of genres you can meet many different people, total numbnuts in games like World of Warcraft but also some great people on occasion. There is also control for RTS games (which I know only one made for console), and the PC has much more flexibility with servers / modifications available even if you only want to play First Person Shooters. Legit mods, by the way. Not the retarded rapid fire ones you find on Xbox, I'm talkin' about actual mods which are legal and gives you more bang for your buck (for StarCraft II there are a few great game modes, including one that has the same music / gameplay style of Sonny 2! It's called Terran RPG: Facility 17. And yes, I know it says RPG, people have been able to adapt SCII in their mods to become shooters, RPG's, hybrids, and all sorts, amazing).
For the record, no, they don't get enough attention. Look at Black Ops, for instance. The developers were to lazy to optimize Frames Per Second for PC (60 FPS for consoles, I can run mind steadily at over 4x that) which can effectively cut in half both FPS and entertainment.
Also things like Demos (Gamershell.com), videos, trailers, and being able to keep up graphics-wise etc (unlike Xbox or PS3 in a couple years), it's fairly obvious. It's just that so many people play Xbox and now people won't move.

And personally I don't believe PC games are as widely known as console games, which is a shame because you have some really great titles out there. Take Civilization. I walked into my loval EB Games and asked when Civ 5 was being released and the guy didn't even know what franchise I was talking about.
i used to do alot of pc gaming but there was so many times where i encountered people who allways hacked/modded and it was annoying so i stoped pc playing and just played ps3, wii, and 360 morre
I agree with highfire on most of those subjects, but you have to remember the fact that console games can also be on PC too. CoD games on the PC do quite well considering people can mod everything. The kind of shi7 people can do on PC games is unimaginably crazy. Games that Valve does are really nice quality games plus they make other off topic games like Team Fortress 2. I love to play games like those that have no goal except to have a dam good time.
The only problem with PC vs Console...You have to keep upgrading, with a console the game is made for you, so you don't have to go out of your way just to play it.
Secondly, If you play with a party you dont have to listen to the rage. Or if you mute the volume and play without a Mic. you dont have to listen to th sissies.

PC <<< console. It is much cheaper AND if you do it yourself, you don't have to spend money getting someone to do it, AND your PC can run circles around a console. PC's need more attention.
PC's are even better with shooters, don't ya know? With how the mouse is handled, you are more precise and can react much faster with using a mouse than using a stick.
And why pay for internet AND for xbox live anyways? It's nothing any more special than regular multiplayer gaming. Why pay money for upgrades to a game? It's already encoded in the game. Do you know what you are buying? A line of code that reads:
Upgrade1 == 0. //exaggerated
You are paying X amount of dollars for a line of code that tells the game that the upgrade can be opened. Why do that, when you can download the upgrades on the PC for *gasp* FREE?
"Pay 50 extra dollars now, and we'll upgrade your insurance policy--ensuring you for a pre-existing condition!"
Really, the only things that are holding the PC back are a lack of modern game libraries and STEAM. ohhhhh STEAM how I wish you were a person so I could kill you....Anyway, if these two were solved and Microsoft stopped using underhanded advertising tactics to have the audience favor their xbox instead of a PC, then the PC would reign supreme again. Wait, it always has been. We just aren't getting enough people to notice.

What people don't realize is that all the games that come on other systems like fallout, or even halo usually are on PC to and the graphics are even sometimes better. Plus i think that people just want to relax infront of a giant flat screen TV and play whatever instead of sitting infront of a tiny screen until their back cramps or there eyes turn red, and in fact instead of buying a playstation, xbox, wii, etc. you could just hook your computer up to your giant TV and play the games, instead of waisting money on a whole other console when in fact you already have one!!!

Okay. I doubt this is your opinion (concerning the first 6 words), but that isn't true.
Computers are more up-to-date than consoles when it comes to running speed (not in games), graphics, and other stuff, Computers beat any console.
The main reason people want the 360 is because everyone else around my area plays it and thus they wanna play with friends. It's quite stupid where they'll be obsolete in a few years, and then they'll need to get a 720 - whereas this computer has been running for several years and is doing fine (just with the upgrade with the 280 GTX graphics card).

If I wanted to I could use my 47inch flat screen tv for my computer monitor, but I like my dual 18.5inch montiors.
