Otihand volunteers to check. He starts to climb up the ladder and does so successfully, reaching the top without any problems. However, he now faces a new difficulty; removing the heavy steel cover. He is not quite strong enough to lift the lid with just one hand, so he takes both hands off the ladder, balancing only on his feet, and attempts to lift the cover. He does so successfully, and does not fall either. He sticks his head just out of the well system to see that the party has arrived right in the middle of a thick crop of woods and forestry, and it is very dark out, near midnight even.
BE CAREFUL! There are foul creatures in this forest, we must be ever vigilant. I suggest we camp for the night, then move on in the morning. I will take first watch
(am I the only one who has not taken damage? btw, Rage Mage WAS my first idea, but I am now considering Spell Sword, Complete Warrior)
First of all, it is a well system, not a sewer. And Otihand is hanging out at the top of the ladder, you can't leave unless he moves.

I have Complete Warrior, luckily. So if you want to be a spellsword, you should definitely start putting some points into Knowledge: Arcana, as well as proficiency with all martial and simple weapons and armor. The spell thing should not be a problem, and I can arrange to get you alone with an enemy who maybe, say, cast Silence so you can't do spells for your Special requirement. It sounds like a good idea, if you want to be a little tougher while still being a mage, but we may have things covered on the fighter aspect in this party. What say you?
You guys realize that you don't have to exit through here. You can go back the way you came from. It will take you a few hours, but it should be relatively safe if you follow the same route you took to arrive here.
Siber suggested camping for the night here, in case you guys didn't notice. Do you want to do that?
