Hey, I'll be starting to post my new art here. I'm a pixel artist, which means I draw with a 1x1 brush, one pixel at a time. Sorta like lo-fi graphics. Retroooo :3

Let's be more specific about this. The shadow of the tree mentioned is aligned with the 3 trees to the right. The only misaligned shadow is the one on the top left. I might be wrong, but it's better to be specific when providing constructive criticism.

No, Mav was right. The lighting source of the picture seems to be exactly at the center, which shows because the mountains on the left have shadows pointing on direction, and the mountains on the right have shadows pointing the other way. The trees on the left should have shadows point the same way as the mountain on the left's shadow, but the one on the bottom doesn't.

I really need to practice my trees... and buy watercolor.

I think the trees look fine, although it never hurts to practice.

and buy watercolor

Definitely. You didn't color in the mountains (p.s., gray at the bottom with a white top would be good).

You never stop learning.

He knows that. And painting it gray on the bottom and white at the top would be pretty unoriginal, but seeing Oak's angular, simple pixel-inspired style, those mountains would look awesome.

And I see you got that moleskine, Oak. How much did it cost you?

Forgive me for the double-post. Absent-mindedly pressed "Submit" before I was finished with my post.

Anyway, what type of paint did you use? Tempera, acrylic?

Good eye! I picked it up at a local Borders for somewhere around $30. It's really worth it, this thing can be used for almost any art medium, it's great.

I used acrylic, it's all I had lying around. I also used a dip of water for the sky and clouds, which I'm not sure if that was the best idea, but it looks alright.

On a side note, I'm in North Carolina right now and I an on sketching a lot of nature stuff then paint it when I get back. It's beautiful here!

After reading all 41 pages of this thread I have come to my conclusion: You are very good at pixel art!

Thanks you two.

Looks really good, besides the fact that the mountains are white, unless that was your intention.

It's actual unfinished. I should really finish it before I lose interest. d:

You paint, too?

Yes, I do! This is probably my best watercolor so far:

Background also watercolor. To get that texture-y look, while the paint was still wet I covered it in tinfoil and set it to dry. The took it off and painted the dragon.

That image works. Also, I like how you include clouds, but this is ProfessorOak's thread. If you want to post more pixel art, you should make your own thread.
