I usually get my best ideas when I'm trying to sleep. I just can't shut off my brain and stop thinking, so I lie awake and think of nonsense, and occasionally get a good idea.
Look at the works of others, but most of the time it's just really looking at my surroundings, be it the vast open country side, or blocks upon blocks of skyscrapers.

For me, it's the physical exercise part that gets my mind into another plane and mode of thinking, so I don't worry whether it's on the streets with all the noise of vehicles, dogs and people, or in the bush and back to nature.

My inspiration comes from my own life. A lot of my story characters come from me and my brothers and a lot of my themes come from events that have happened to us.
