I doubt that they will come out any time soon, they are both still in the miliking part of the process, and if either microsoft or sony does make another one, I'm thinking microsoft will first, because microsoft came out with the 360 before sony came out with the ps3, and besides the 360 is the second of the xbox series, ps3 is well, is the 3rd. I don't know how that is revelavent, but who cares.(I am discluding all handheld devices)
Why do graphics matter to you people? The point of gaming consoles is to play "games", the gameplay is what matters, not some pretty art in the background. This is the main reason as to why I mainly play video games on my PS2, because many games I've played on the PS3 and Xbox 360 focus on graphics more than anything else, which is pathetic.
Okay.....wait, the console itself needs to be powerful enough to fully handle demanding engines, such as frostbite 2, that enhance the gameplay experience. We don't just need to say, "Oh let us just make everything as pretty as possible." I don't see where avatar comes in to this anywhere. You can't even relate it, that is a movie, your talking about gaming. We should be talking about gameplay here. We need more powerful consoles, that is true. But don't forget the most important aspect of gaming, something that is commonly known as "fun" What we need in the xbox 720 and PS4 is: DirectX 11 support, updated processors, updated GPU's, and new innovations to enhance the gameplay experience. Here's my prediction: PS4 will have improved hardware and software, new and exciting exclusives, and people will stock up on them and sell them at unreasonable prices, the 720 will barely update the hardware, they'll reskin the software, they'll have average old exclusives, and millions will complain about the new RRoD within the first month.

NO one knows if it will be called the XBOX 720, for all we know it could be called the LTRIANGLE 5692 or something, and microsoft claimed that they wouldn't be launching a new console for another 5 years or something because of Kinect.
