I don't rate fear I didn't find it scary at all and dead rising isn't scary either but it is a good game

For single player I think you should try The Suffering: Ties That Bind
and for MMO Requiem Bloodymare - lots of blood, an overall nice horror MMO here are the 2 trailers for the game:

i can easily get freaked out but you could definitely try Doom 3. Quite old but classic. If you play it as recommended in the manual (midnight, lights off, door locked, sound as loud as possible) IT WILL REALLY GIVE YOU THE CREEPS.

As for singularity, i dumped it because i didn't like its spooky beginning but i saw its potential as a game.

I've heard that FEAR and FEAR 2 are good but F3AR sucks so...

As for Resident Evil, after RE4 the gameplay changed completely so i can only assume that the other games of the series were far spookier.

If you can consider spooky Wolfenstein: Return to castle Wolfenstein, put it too here but i don't think so...

What else... I have no idea about Fallout, try at your own risk (lol)...

Oh and let's fix Syffin's links shall we?

And of course the Bioshock.

That's all i can really think of.

I'm hearing a lot about Amnesia: DD, but what about Dead Space2? I heard that one was pretty scary. I really get into my scary games.

I remember playing Doom3 for xbox WAAAAAY back in the day. I get sick playing too long, especially first person shooter games. So I had been playing for like 5 hours straight. It was dark as **** in the house and I was getting really sick from playing so long. LOL the unnerving-ness of it really got to me! haha

A few people have mentioned Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and I agree with them, you should definitely buy it. There is not a single game, book or a movie that have scared me as much as Amnesia did. They did a really good job creating a scary atmosphere. I couldn't play it more than half an hour at a time when I was in the worst parts of the game.

Definitely Bioshock for me, the only game that made me scared. Ever.

Dead Island is a lot of fun at this point, a horror game with skill trees is a first for me!

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is the only "thing" that actually is scary (For me) - No movie, book or other game in the horror category has gone past "boring" for me.

(Well, Dead Space (2) was interesting, but as a horror game it wasn't scary)

I tried Dead Island and it felt EXACTLY like Left 4 Dead 2 - Just with a slower combat system. Also, for me it felt more like funny than scary and I still haven't figured out why.
