What would you say is the saddest death of a charcter in a game or what would you say the Top 5 or 10 Saddest are? I only really know of one sad death which is Dom from Gears of War 3, he serves you through all 3 games.
Companion Cube in Portal. Best fake death ever (Spoiler) Portal 2 got better at the end. You step out, the door slams, you turn around, then you hear something come up and the door opens, there's the Companion Cube. I literally hugged the TV.
Chernov, from WaW. The side thing with the Journal is really sad actually, seeing as Reznov does a complete about face on it, then reads a section of it before the last level.
I was pretty sad about the small town I nuked in fallout 3.

But how about the Adoring Fan who, in my save game, just got smashed by a member of the Muthic Dawn, who just assaulted him. Good thing he came back to life.
Maddison Page - Heavy Rain. I made her jump out the window and explode within the fridge. It was fun, but, anyway, that moment when you see her grave is one of the saddest in the game.
