The Wii U is the new (un-released) home-console of Nintendo. It's announced on the E3 of 2011. It's have HD graphics and, the most important, a new controller with a touchscreen on it. What do you think? Are you planning to buy it?
It's not a handheld, because the console must be on if you want to play.
Ah. So it basically is just a screen that's awkward and expensive that you would rarely use in real life. You're not going to sit down, turn on your Wii, and sit five feet away and play on a little screen just because it's "cool". I look for comfort.
I think it will be cool, but way out of my price range. I heard you can either play on the TV, on the console, or on the console AND the TV. I'm probably wrong though.

I think that you are correct, but still not sure.
I don't really like the idea of the Wii U. It is more of a tablet then an at home game device.
I read on Cheatcc.com that a GTA game may be exclusive to the Wii U. Yes that's right. A Grand Theft Auto game that is ONLY on the world's most family friendly console.
Dont you remember a little game called... GTA Chinatown? Exclusive for the nintendo DS?
its not really a hand held nor is it a proper home console, if that makes sense, its more of a hybrid of the 2 types. Anyways am not getting, the games on the wii are too child friendly, PSV for me.
To be honest I'm not excited about this at all. I'll give it to Nintendo, they have been revolutionizing the way video games are being played coming up with new and innovative controls, It just seems like they never know what to do with it. In the end they just release another Mario, Zelda, and Metroid game, and once those names are exhausted they make a new system. Just look at the Wii, It was a fun little system, but it didn't really last very long. People played it for a while and then said "...is that it?". Then Sony and Microsoft created the Move and Kinect and basically made the Wii obsolete. While the PS3 and 360 are still going strong, the Wii is basically dead as a competing system. I feel the same will happen to the Wii U. It will be innovative but will drop out in 5 or so years. And yet, its really doesn't seem like more than a giant DS. It has two screens. one you look at, one you can touch. Only this one is stationary. I also remember that one of the new innovations was that you could continue the game right on the Wii U controller's touch screen while someone else used the TV. But that just makes it a handheld that can only be used within a 20 foot radius. But hey, maybe I'm being hyper critical.
