I also remember that one of the new innovations was that you could continue the game right on the Wii U controller's touch screen while someone else used the TV. But that just makes it a handheld that can only be used within a 20 foot radius. But hey, maybe I'm being hyper critical.

I'm not giving Sony any credit haha that was a complete rip off of the Will just with a new paint job basically. And Marius2323, that's why it just seems weird to make it one of the big selling factors ya know?

I never cared about the wii, but now with the wii u to realize that I'll be good I get to look at it ... wii u comin 'down!

Just look at the Wii, It was a fun little system, but it didn't really last very long. People played it for a while and then said "...is that it?". Then Sony and Microsoft created the Move and Kinect and basically made the Wii obsolete.

I'm buying it but I've seen it Live on E3... Don't you think this topic is a bit late like others said?

Think about it i mean like 3 years ago (or so) the wii was a fun and awesome system. Everyone wanted to get it. So everyone basically did.But now all the networks and Microsoft made new systems like the Move or the Kinect.

It's a great idea in all but why make another system if there gonna improve things or make new things?

I wouldn't say Sony and Microsoft are reaping the ideas, more like expanding on them and putting forth their own games. That's like saying any game that had a controller is stealing an idea from another system. It's just that Nintendo never really knows where to go with their ideas beyond making Mario, Zelda, Pokemon and Metroid titles. And once they're done making those (and an Ocarina of Time remake) they start putting forth a new system. It's about time Nintendo start revolutionizing their games as well as their system instead of making a crap load of money on nostalgia.

Well, I'm not quite sure what Nintendo are planning with the Wii U but there are some improvements here and there.

Allowing the console to play games in HD can be great for them to keep up with the High Definition consoles out there such as the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Oh, and the addition of a USB slot to the console is also a nice new feature.

The new screen controller also looks pretty innovative with being able to play the game on the controller, the t.v screen or both. The only downside to this though, in my opinion, it seems a little bulky but that may just be the images.

I agree with Easton5, I don't think that Microsoft and Sony have taken the ideas from Nintendo but more like creating new hardware inspired by the principles of the humble Wii.

However, from what I have read the console no longer supports backwards compatibility for the GameCube anymore which is a shame but with the Wii U being completely redisigned and all I think that it's acceptable in some ways.

All in all, I think that the console it a good idea for Nintendo to head into a new direction and is definitely worth a try but fans of the original from the beginning might miss some of the older features or the slight charm of its predecessor.

i was reading gameinformer magazine and it said that it's likely that they will change the name i could be wrong about it being likely but it was either likely or it is going to be changed

i saw the Wii u on my Nintendo 3ds and i want it so bad it looks so cool and Nintendo land and the new games coming out for it like zombi u, new super mario bros u, just dance 4, pikmin 3, sing, and tht all i know and yea i want one but i dont know if i can but anyway it looks really cool

its looks cool but isnt suppose to be like 600 dollars nah i think ill stick with the ps3
