Amnesia: The Dark Descent's opening bit got to me, I kept imagining I was hearing and seeing things, I never would have imagined that a video game could make me paranoid.
It was scarryish for like 5 seconds, but then I started making fun of everything (i was doing a first reaction commentary, didn't air it since my recorder broke halfway through) and ever sinc then it just isn't scary for me.
Basically everything in the F.E.A.R. series. It's all pretty scary. Pretty mentally scarring for a video game.
The game was pretty bad with its cutscenes where an enemy would attack you before you could attack back since I always did and the bullets just go right through them so it got annoying. The random *** tasks your supposed to do in that game make it halarious "oh can you go behind the truck into that darkly lit area until you step on a trigger and something scary happpens?"
When you get to the First born and he starts making your teammates explode in Clive Barkers Jericho
Yea that game had it's moments
Those freaking necromorphs from the Dead Space games are the scariest freaking things ever!
The triggers in dead space are really really obvious, they cleaned up their act a bit inDS2 though, I give them credit for that. Also the scenes with his dead girlfriend weren't scary (until the final time you see her) because i thought of them as safe havens from monsters.
lugi`s mansion. most terrifying game ever. why nientendo? when i was 5 i got lugi`s mansion for the gamecube and it freaked me out so i took the disc out and never touched it....until a year later when i picked it up and beat it twice in 2 days.... stupid king boo...
I remember plaing that when I was a kid and i seriously got scared with by some of the ghosts as well, but back then I really wasn't playing many horror games or was experienced in triggers.
The first time I got scared in a game was when the Market (In Ocarina of Time) was destroyed and the zombies shouted at you, I always told my uncle to do those parts for me.
When you're entering Rapture for the first time in Bioshock. The eerie feeling, the darkness, the door closing behind you. That was the scariest part of Bioshock for me...
Dead Island when the suiciders call for help. They're part human, part zombie and their voices send shivers through my blood. Also you know that they're somewhere near you and they explode in your face, killing you in one shot which is pretty scary and annoying too.
It used to be Time splitters future perfect when you go into the kitchen in the Haunted House mission.
Zombie cows crawl through windows and out of the ovens. They're headless, stand on their hind legs and there is cut from their neck to their waist which means you can see its organs.
This used to scare the crap out of me especially as I was 13 at the time.
I remember when Aliens Vs Predator 2 first came out for the PC, back then I had a computer with a graphics card that could barely run it.
As a result the environments in the game were a lot darker then they were with a fully optimized computer. I could barely see a few feet ahead of me at a time and relying on the flashlight was critical.
One of my favorite moments were you were playing the Marine Missions and had to go into an alien nest to rescue your squad mates.
I died a lot trying to run back where I started with a lot of Aliens after me while trying to navigate their lair in near total darkness.
OMG i cant forget scary maze, my cousin freaking pranked me, i thought it was a maze then a scary face popped up and i was scared to go into the room for like a few hours untilmy mom turned it off
Not to sound stupid, but in minecraft when the enemies flood in your "house" and beat the crap out of you.....I hate it and it make my computer all slow!
